Kuzma's 3pt shooting may have been an anomaly but I wouldn't lose a second of sleep if he's the one missing those shots.

How long will he be off the floor BTW? Well be lottery in a week and we can kiss HCA goodbye if these guys don't start winning games we should be winning despite everything.

4 for 20, yikes. If this was Lonzo or BI there would be a least a page or two of comments about how s***ty a game they had.

he had a rough night. problem is that for lonzo and BI, rough nights are the rule and not the exception.

His offense was miserable but it really was good to see him back on the court. They still had to guard him which was good for others.

The funny thing was, I kept going back and forth last night between kind of being into Kuz not stopping shooting (Kobe-esque in a weird way) and being furious that he kept launching brick after brick with no conscience. It was a bit fascinating.

hes been shooting poorly from 3's all season long and doesn't have that great a fg% either, people ignore his faults cause he puts up pts

Kuz shooting percentage for the year is 46.3, 29.7, 77.3 and turnovers 1.9
BI shooting percentage for the year is 46.4, 29.1, 63.6 and turnovers 2.5
Zo shooting percentage for the year is 40.8, 33.5, 41.3 and turnovers 2.2

Kuz’s shooting problems are not just ONE game. The only thing he shoots better then BI is free throws. Both of their 3 point percentage suck. Zo of all people is shooting the 3 ball better. Kuz also turns the ball over quite a bit for not being a primary ball handler.

Teams don't ignore him, and he generally doesn't force bad shots (Ingram) or avoid good ones (lonzo).

That's why he gets a pass from me.

Also: we didn't franchise tag him as an organization.

hand in your face 3pt attempt when shooting 2-14 at that pt should be considered forcing a bad shot

Tough crowd for Kuz , he's shooting 57% on 2s and isn't a joke from the FT line like BI and Lonzo.

He's the only young player who can score on his own , sure not with great efficiency but still .

Lakers offensive rating before this game

3 games without Lebron with Kuz : 107.2
3 games without Lebron AND without Kuz :91.7

if one gets criticized, all should...all 3 of Kuz,Ball, Ingram has had some sort of issues. Kuz gets the future all-star tag cause he puts up pts, rather inefficiently at times but most ignore his faults cause of said pts as oppose to Bi/Zo who seems to have a much harder time scoring.

Sure but I think the ability to score is and has been for a while more and more underrated with the development of advanced stats and " twitter experts" .

Kuzma is a scoring threat regardless of which players are surrounding him on the court , Lonzo and BI look more like complementary pieces around great players , useful for their D or playmaking ... which is a BAD look for 2nd picks

Kuz is fluid and decisive, BI is not. Watching Kuz is much more pleasing to the eye.

Meh. Tough night but it was his first game back from injury.

    Plus we won.

Those are the reasons folks aren’t down on him.

People are generally not down on Kuzma, because his role is clearly defined (he's a scorer), he is consistently our second best scorer after Bron (18.2 PPG) thus fulfilling his role relatively well. Also, he does play well with LeBron. His FT shooting is... respectable, considering the rest of the team, and his 3pt% sucks; but that's not enough to really start criticizing him, especially because he did improve his defense somewhat.

Basically, Kuz is doing relatively well and is playing better overall than last year.

Kuz is a very good and versatile scorer, but he's not half the defender that Zo or BI is. Yes, he's improved in that department. But he went from horrible to decent so he doesn't get a huge pass there. Most people (I'm not saying the folks here at LB who are more sophisticated) just look at scoring. I like Kuz and he's definitely gotten better overall this season (except 3 point shooting). But if I could include him in a trade and get AD I would.
