Remember when we were saying his shot was Klay Thompson-esque?... Perfect fit next to LeBron. Same with Ball. Same with Hart. Davis might be the best fit ever with those four.
He is a better fit than Ingram if his shot is falling. Kuzma can be amazing if he feels it. The problem ever since his hot streak ended is that he hasn't been consistent with his shot... there are too many 4-13 and 5-15 games in between the hot games.
Yeah, you made the Klay Thompson comparison - very good comparison, if not spot on. We need to see more of the kids next to him. That gives us the best chance to win games, IMO.
Hey Luke, see how well Kuz plays when you don't play him at center? I'm all for these starting and bench lineups: Lonzo, Hart, Lebron, Kuzma, McGee Rondo, KCP, Lance, Ingram, -insert someone here- Lonzo, Hart and Kuz are great fits next to Lebron. And then you have Rondo and Ingram running the bench. We still desperately need size out there and I have lost confidence with Zubac, when is Wagner coming back?
It's incredible how much better he looks next to LeBron. Those two have terrific chemistry because Kuzma is aggressive, constantly moving, and can space the floor. You probably need three hands to count how many times LeBron has looked for Kuzma on a subtle back door pass in our offense.
Kuz is getting his mojo back and it's nice to see. He really is a great fit alongside Lebron. Just not at center.
It’s more than obvious he was being used wrong and playing out of position for the first 2, and has looked better the last 2 since we have started using Williams at backup C and starting Kuz at the 4. He’s not a center, that was idiotic and I hope it’s over for good, and he clearly needs a decent amount of time next to LeBron. I don’t even care if he starts over Ingram if that’s what’s going to make us a better team.
His movement without the ball, especially baseline, is tremendous. Gotta praise his improved d. He's no rodman but his effort is great. He's flying around
This. His effort was really good, and his chemistry with LeBron and Zo is excellent. He’s picking his spots well again and is looking comfortable and fluid.
Do they though? Kuz fits so much better in the starting 5 and when he decides to play D and hustles, it's not even close.
Lakers have a track history of giving players their starting positions back after suspensions for assaulting James Harden, since he soooo much deserves it .....
I watched Kuz and agree with everyone’s take but it’s waaaay too early to write off BI. A couple game sample is not enough to say BI doesn’t fit as well. Kuz, while an amazing offensive player, is really not great at D. I look at the net number as I do that with my son. If you score 20 but you give up the same amount of points then it really doesn’t benefit the team. This team will really progress if D is the priority. Defense and doing the small things makes a bigger impact on the game than scoring. Lonzo is a perfect example. I love watching him play. He’s so crafty at a young age. Such a high basketball IQ.
Im not writing BI off, far from it. I think he'll be an all-star and probably best player out of our kids... it's just that Kuz fits better with Bron, Hart and Zo/RR. Been wrong before but that's my thinking at the moment
I agree, it's pretty obvious right now that Lonzo, Hart, Kuz, Lebron, McGee is our best lineup. They are the pieces that best fit together. Rondo should go to the bench. I think BI should, too, but I know he won't. Needless to say at this point KCP should definitely come off the bench.
I do think there's something to be said about chemistry and that lineup certainly has it. I still expect the starters to include Ingram though for a dozen reasons, some of which don't have to do with the on-court product right now. I still have faith Ingram can fit into that lineup though given his skill set.
