And as much as I love Ingram and Lonzo... this is why I think Kuz will be the best of the 3. He has a drive to be more than just great. He has a drive to be THE best.
Kuzma 17 points in 4th quarter alone comeback vs Boston C Bags: Probably my favorite Kuzma game last season because it showed he could single handendly take over a game and attack in different ways.
I like Kuz so much. ****loads of Flint street attitude but it's good attitude. He just wants to beat you and he'll let you know that through his play and his trash talk (which is just part of his engine) while doing it. He's the type of player that brings out confidence in his team mates. Like Magic said, our really young guys are quiet, not Kyle though, at least not on court and I think these new vets are going to just bring out even more of that side out of him. I know I always compare him to D'Angelo which isn't the same position or player type really but I can't help it, I would take Kuz in a shot before D-Lo. Kuz will always remind me off last summer when we off-loaded the self-proclaimed vein-shooting iceman Russell, who I did not care for, added that nasty contract of Mozgov's and got Lopez and the pick that ended up being Kuz. Also we got Hart with our other pick. So aquiring Kuz was one of our first big moves of the new regime (after the Mozgov trade of course) and so there is a lot of good vibes and feeling conected with him for me which suits his character anyways. Happy B-Day big K.
I agree that was a great game especially against our rivals. But this was probably my favorite Kuzma game because he was hot from the very start and it lasted pretty much all game.
That game I almost forgot about because it was surreal to see a high pick rookie go off on probably the 2nd best team in the league like that. He's hitting from everywhere but Kyle is very much a today's game type shooter Compared to KD's (who I'm just using as an example as a good shooter but rookie, not trying to stir comparisons) first season, Kuzma has far less shots from the most inefficient variety, mid ranger jumpers, and most of his production is from 3 or in the paint. KD hadn't really developed his 3 yet (.288) and was around 15% of his total attempts where as with Kuzma over 40% off his attempts were 3s which he hit at nearly 37%. Since most of the rest is in the paint his total FG% is .450 16/6/2 (on 13.5 attempts) for Kuz 20/4/2 (on 17.1 attempts) for KD Since KD went to the line and had more than 2x the FT attempts, they were dead even on scoring efficiency. Obviously an area Kyle needs to work on, is getting those calls.
That hairstyle, is it a modern mullet? I wonder where he is going with it. Hi top fades are back too I think for the youth.
Scores in a variety of ways and can definitely create for his own shot. Can't say that about a lot of players and if you do they are usually star players. Kuz isn't there yet but you can sure see how he can get there. As Channing Frye said he has that internal fire inside to be great.
Kuz saves me from depressive thoughts of the Lakers having passed on Tatum for Zo, though I wanted them to choose Zo. I guess it’s all these references lately by sports radio to Kobe’s statement of wondering why didn’t they choose Tatum. Thanks Kuz.
