Quite frankly, I think Randle is going to be a stud; he's going to be on a rookie contract for the foreseeable future, and I want to see him develop and become what I know will potentially be a star in this league, if injuries cooperate. That said, Love isn't happy in Cleveland, he's friends with Westbrook, and signing him could potentially make Randle expendable in a bigger deal for a superstar. Add Kevin to that list as well; if the FO think that Randle will be the better player, who's to say they wouldn't flip with Love for another superstar type. It's about acquiring assets at this point, putting the best product out on the floor, and being in a position to make a move when the time is right.
yep. I like randle, but he's still never played an nba game. if the lakers really have a shot at love, they should take it and sort out the rest later. if randle outplays him, he can be moved. if not, randle can be moved. in the interim, there's still chances to play randle for a few minutes here and there at sf and love for a few minutes here and there at c, such that each guy gets his 30 minutes. but again, this requires that randle proves ready for 30mpg next year, which is a tall order for a rookie.
