Yeah, don't count it out. I mean, Superwoman left here after being traded. Nothing's impossible.

Well, a record of 2-3 and already talks of team implosion is pretty funny. The Cavs front office is a joke and most players that have half a brain should be able to pick apart all their flaws. I'd like to think Love is smart enough to pick up that this so called "super team" is not what it's meant to be but for some reason, I like to see him fail. He seems so Dwight "ish" to me, and by that I mean he just strikes me as someone who jumps ship when things are not going his way. I know you might say "He stuck it out in Minny for years", but i think he's thinking like Lebron after the first time he bolted from Clevland to Miami (win now). And there's also that thing called being a leader, which he is not. So I say Kevin Love, HA! keep taking a back seat to real superstars that are leaders. Why not take a back seat to Kobe if that's the case, at least you'll be in LA.

^If Love has an "enabled" attitude like Howard did then he will not work well with 24.

He's only going to consider this at the end of the season. After all, he can't opt out until the season ends. Sure, he might be thinking about doing it right now, but do we really need to speculate for a whole season? This seems like bait for Laker fans. Can we lock this? I really don't want to have to deal with this again all throughout the season, especially now that he's playing with LeBron :lipssealed:

    Superman*

Your referring to Dwight/Superman and it's not okay to change his nickname to a feminine form simply because you don't like him anymore. Women aren't worse than men, so what are you trying to imply by changing his name to a female version?

I agree but, what if Kobe does hang it up after next year? He'll only have to play with him for 1 year unless Kobe signs a team friendly 1 or 2 year deal but that opens up a whole new topic. That being said, I'm not sold on Love to the point where it's the end of the world if they don't land him. This article is probably just an exaggeration anyway.

That's what I'm saying. It could just be a thought that came into his head when they started off rough and LeBron and Kyrie were too busy fighting over the ball to notice him, but it's still a thought.

There's no question life in that Cleveland locker room is no fun. LA would treat Love exactly the way he wants to be treated and he knows it. Whoever made the point about maybe him shying away from LeBron is a bad sign for how he'd play with Kobe is a good one though. I don't think Love is afraid of the pressure, I think he just doesn't want to be an afterthought. Things could turn around and work out just fine, but I don't think it's as easy as writing this off. My gut tells me there's some fire here around the smoke. Just a tiny fire right now, but a fire.

Lets get one thing straight, the true "Superman" in a basketball reference is the man I need to go back on and watch tape on for some good memories. Shaquille, effing, O'Neal. Who actually has it tattooed on him. @FreeThePeople , relax and take a joke. I wish Shaq was in his prime and still in the league because Dwight wouldnt even be able to score 12 points on him while Shaq at the by the end of the night, would have Gorilla dunked on him and be on Sports Centers top 10 after going for 30+.

Back on topic for Love, after last night it might be a little tough lol. Only way he comes IMO, Kobe tells him after next year he takes a team friendly deal which will open up even MORE cap space AND another star or two(if not star+couple other recruits)of Loves liking agree to come to SoCal to build a contender.

If you think about it, we had a chance to beat the Clippers with our depleted roster and the Clippers last night CHOKED the game away against the Spurs last night who stole the game. Not farfetched to say were not that far off and were playing with a roster thats less talented, on a system thats only been together for 6 regular season games lol. Makes me feel if Mitch is on top of his game scheming, well get there fairly sooner rather than later.

Actually, no he doesn't. He doesn't menstruate.

@SFGOLDRUSHER , gendered insults aren't funny to me, and I won't take them. I'll take a joke, but putting someone down by implying they are female thus worse is not funny.

Just accept that you made a mistake, and try not to do it again. That's all I ask. 99% of us here don't like Dwight either, but there are other ways to insult him without establishing a gender hierarchy - call him a crybaby or a loser, not "Superwoman"

I respect that, but at the end of the day were entitled to our opinions and we dont have to explain ourselves when we do so. Back on subject and get the thread back on its rails. This is a basketball forum.

Yes, it is a basketball forum. Not a "degrade women" forum. We're all more mature than that.

I only post about this because I care strongly about this issue, but even more so: http://lakersball.com/threads/creating-a-more-female-friendly-environment.122/

If I see someone using a gendered insult, I'll call them out. It's nothing personal, it's just for community development.

Sorry, back to speculating about Kevin Love coming here (again) I guess.

He's opting out for more money, and throwing the Lakers out there for leverage.

I doubt he wants out of Cleveland after a few games. Maybe the city, but not the team.

It's not a tasteful joke @FreeThePeople, but it's also a harmless one. Was it implied that Super"woman" was weaker than Super"man", inherently, but ease off of the gas pedal. I get that you're passionate about how you feel, but let's not take this out of context here, it was A JOKE. Relax, save your discussion for the Political thread or a debate.

Continue on with the Kevin Love talk, sheesh.

I hope we can change that dumb nickname. It's taken by someone much more worthy of it. But point taken on the gender slur.

Actually I appreciate that FreeThePeople said something.

I'm not going to lecture or anything, but LB is trying not just to be family friendly, but female friendly too. We've got a couple of great female posters here and we'd love to have more. Jokes like "Superwoman" are disrespectful to women even if you said without the direct intention of insulting women. It's something that's been sort of bred into the way we socialize, but here at LB we're trying to at least cut that down. There's plenty of ways to insult someone, all we ask is you try to be ambiguous with the insult.

Howard is a Coward! Boom. Insulted and also true!

Thanks guys for being understanding and yes please let's get back to the subject at hand. I really do appreciate how well you guys all handled the disagreement. If you want to talk about if further feel free to PM me. I'd appreciate that.

Exactly. I do like Kevin Love, but I do think hes slightly overrated. What I would like, is getting that top 5 lottery pick and hopefully the 1st or 2nd overall pick in the draft, than grab BPA with Houstons 1st and 2nd round picks. Re-sign Kelly, thats 6 young players on cheap contracts going forward counting Randle and Clarkson.
