http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nba/1848/kenneth-faried. What does everyone think of this signing by the Nuggets? Does the news of the new TV deal have anything to do with this contract? He does have some great upside but it seems there is a get out of jail free card with the cap increase coming. I compare this 12m a yr average salary to the likes of Jordan Hills 2 year deal and actually feel like its a pretty good deal for the Nuggets given his upside potential.
He was absolutely fantastic for Team USA. He's not a franchise player, but he's a great piece to have and a team first guy. Players like Faried and Noah, who have nonstop motor, are worth whatever they get because you know they will spend every tick of that clock trying to earn their salary and that they won't take a play off. Another great thing about those (type of) guys is that you don't have to run plays for them. They'll find a way to get theirs off sheer hustle.
It's the going rate these days for anyone that is coming off their rookie scale contract. If you want them, lock em up before they get a chance to get maxed or you will be left with an overpaid player or nothing.
I always thought he was a flawed player. Fantastically athletic, hard working forward, but he's way too undersized as a power forward. Defensively, he can't handle bigger forwards unless he's skying over them for a rebound. He deserves his contract, and he's typically a consistent player.
This is what came to my mind as well. When I first read the tweet and did the math in my head I thought the Nuggets got a steal.
