Hey, he looked good in the preseason: 12.5/3/2, shooting 40% for three. Then something happened to him. It's a mystery.
Loss of confidence is a killer for a player that earns his coins as a scorer, he doesn't look hampered by anything physically.
I can live with offensive issues if a player is good on defense but he's awful on defense as well. The Lakers go small to get worse shooting and offense while still going small lol - need more size and Ham needs to stop playing these midgets when players come back
I think we play the small guys together in order to give Lebron maximum working space, and to help with the ball handling. I get it in theory, especially with AD out. Honestly at times, it's effective and can be disruptive on defense, especially in transition. However..just like with Frank, Darvin relies on it too much IMO.
Sounds simple enough, but we also have made runs that got us back into games using that very same lineup.
bazemore effect. i mostly agree. it's in his head. he does look half a step slower to me on offense, though (he always looked slower on defense, even pre-injury, just doesn't anticipate). i don't think he's going to work his way out of it here. la's a tough place to get your mind right as a pro hooper (which is part of why i was glad to see AD go on his tear this year).
It would be a shocker if he turns it around here. Hamm has him on an extremely short leash. He might bounce back somewhere else though.
still think he looks a step slower. and i get why he has a short leash. he's been a bad defender the whole time, and we have other guys who can put the ball in the basket and aren't as bad on defense. i'm actually going to be surprised if he bounces back anywhere next year. he might need to go to europe for a year or something.
But not just “to Europe”. I’d try a basketball powerhouse such as Albania first. Or, I don’t know, Portugal. Gain confidence first, follow somewhere in the Balkans, 2nd tier leagues of course, then go from there. Or he might just end up like
smush actually played really well for us that first year. he just didn't have the fire. and maybe THT doesn't, either. we'll see.
