Hindsight is 20/20, we could have given that exception to Monk, now there’s a big possibility we lose Malik for as little as few million because we can’t offer him more.

One of the more gruesome NBA injuries I’ve ever witnessed was when Paul George broke his leg during a summer Team USA scrimmage, where his leg literally snapped in half and you could see the broken bone sticking out of his skin.

He required surgery, pin placed in his bones, rehab, etc. and he was able to get back on the court about 8 months later.

How on earth is Kendrick Nunn’s bone bruise on the same level as that?

i usually get burned for any optimism i show, but i'm not so sure.

    1. he still can't defend, and teams have seen that.
    2. he's also still streaky and thus best suited for a bench role
    3. he's repeatedly stated he likes it here
    4. there's a chance we can make moves that put us far enough under the tax to make him a solid offer.

i think it will be like caruso--a handful of teams will show up hoping to nab him for something over the taxpayer MLE and under the full MLE. we'll see what position we're in then.

Maybe mix in some calcium supplements? And why has Dr Raj been so silent on this all season with the tweets. Even he’s dumbfounded. But joking aside I’m sure no one is feeling worse about this physical malady / situation than Nunn. Other than Lakerfan of course. :swear: :swear: :swear:

Although most med sites say there can be great variation in heal time, almost everyone lists a couple of months as the usual max.

Nunn is 22+ weeks down so 5 1/2 months and will end up a lot longer than that now. Guess we will get to keep him for the 5.25 mil next season. That's one good thing.

He probably re-injured it back around November/December when we/he thought he was good to go.

I’d been told he was under the radar in hospice by the neighbor’s gardener but now he’s walking that back. His FO connection was just giving gallows humor.

Is there a actual doctor on here, or a doctor like doctor Klapper who could provide insight on how it could be 6 months and still not healed?

does this guy need surgery? I mean we have people returning from ACL surgeries and playing professional sports within 6 months these days

This just tells us it wasn't really a bone bruise. Or maybe it was at first, but this is something else.

Who knows? This is just one of the strangest injuries I’ve ever seen in sports. Will he ever play again at this point? I’m not believing he really will any more after being out a whole season.

He could be going to Kawhi's doctor too. Who knew a sore quad could keep you out over a year and cause you to need 20+ games of rest the season you do finally return.

One of the Alex's girlfriends/wives from the Silver Screen and Roll Pod is a doc and her medical opinionated guess is that it just happened in an area of the knee that doesn't get much blood flow which really prolongs the recovery process.

right, but if that's true, aren't there methods to increase bloodflow to areas? i'm not that kind of doctor, so i don't know. i just can't recall a bone bruise keeping a guy out 6 months.
