It did look bad. I don’t see him turn the ankle at any point, he lands and grabs right at his achilles area. Lakers said the x-rays are negative for fractures, but I don’t think that’s how they tell an achilles injury. I would think if they felt it was that serious it would be reported as such, but our medical staff doesn’t seem to do that stuff, so who can say. I don’t like KCP on the court, but I don’t wish him any actual injury, especially serious. I hope he’s alright, and he just has his minutes reduced til he’s traded.
i think the most important thing is that we take it slow, diagnose this properly, and make sure he's got time to heal.
There were two situations I saw where he went down grabbing his ankle. The second time took him out the game. This is also a good strategy if he fears a trade.
How's rest of the season sound? Don't wish for any of our guys to get hurt. I don't think we have to blindly stick up for them when they're s***, like Dwight is suggesting we do. Glad he's out of the rotation and hopefully he gets whole in time to make a contribution as a cheerleader on our bench or as a former Laker.
I agree and now is the time to really support him. Even when he comes back, make sure you limit his minutes... you don't want him to get injured again. Nice and slow.
If it is a torn achilles (just guessing), can we get a disabled player exception for him? If so, who is available that we can target?
I’m assuming you can’t add 2 disabled player exceptions together for 1 player...like we could pay Iggy more?
no, you can't combine...but I would think KCP (if we got an exception) would be bigger than the exception we got for Boogie
Unfortunately, KCP still has his no trade clause. That is, until Lebron and Rich put the hammer down and tell him how they literally got him over $40+M over the last 3 years.
Better safe than sorry. we’ll hold the fort down as best we can until you return KCP. take your time.
