Love this move. He was the marquee FA once he became unrestricted. Rich Paul was crazy deliberate in getting Tristan that huge deal with the Cavs and that was with Bron having major pull with the Cavs...but of course he had to deal with that Gilbert fella. Compare that to Rich Paul and KCP meeting with Magic and Pelinka and that same day KCP agrees to sign with us. That tells me alot with how our FO can close and appease potential FA and power agents in the future (I see you George and Bron). Cap is projected to go up next year. If you shed Randle, Clarkson and Deng the Lakers can play with roughly 85M next summer (assuming the cap is set at 104M as was in '16 compared to 99M this year). Now that's assuming our brain-trust does not see Randle and Clarkson as part of our core and of course, we find a taker for dumping Deng. Bron has shown he will sacrifice salary to team up. George in his recent sit down with Woj has shown that he is more than willing to buddy up....maybe these guys can leave enough money on the table to keep KCP and Lopez. That team with Ball, Ingram and the rest of our kiddies can do some work in the west. 25M for Bron and PG (50M) 15M for Lopez and KCP (30M) ...that gets it done and I'm sure we'll try to sell them on 1+1 deals so that we can gain their early bird rights. Then during the 2019/20 season we can offer those 5 year max extension deals that takes them to 2024 when the new CBA can be opted out of and salaries will be negotiated to be even more lucrative. Its an optimistic outlook, but if its an option, then don't limit yourself moving forward. From shedding Moz's deal to doing due diligence on Rondo to closing KCP up rapidly, I think we're in good hands moving forward fam. F a magic wand, Magic has shown that all you really need are Balls. Mitch, thanks for your services, but I ain't missing you in the least. In Rob I Trust
Not even sure if it was the best gif to use there, but I saw it and started laughing out loud and had to use it.
LOL. Back in JSM's prime this would have been enough to bring him out from wherever he'd been vacationing from CL or even LB, for a crack back on Gump. Sad to see father time catch up to him finally. NO2: C'mon Dude the Lake Show is back in the NEWS.
