    Actually, this could be a good thing for us if we get LeBron and PG13 locked up early in free agency.

    Then, the clock starts back up again for the Spurs. Even though we no longer have the cap space to get Kawhi...as long as the OTHER squad in LA does...we can force the Spurs into a deal for Kawhi so he doesn't walk to the Clippers for free! Boston and Philly remain in the same spot they're in now (no commitment from Kawhi)..it's actually perfect. Let the Clippers have max cap space! It actually HELPS us especially after we get PG13 and LeBron (and now we don't have the pressure of making a bad deal but the Spurs have all the pressure to get rid of Kawhi and salvage some value before he leaves them for nothing)

    The Lakers need to negotiate from a position of strength. Tell the Spurs, this is our offer.... It will get worse as time goes on. You know the Spurs are not getting great offers or they would have pulled the trigger already.

    So true, Cook..

    The only thing I don't want is to have this drag into the season. I would like to get him into a Laker uni asap, although I am aware that our leverage only increases with time.

    My concern would be that the longer this goes on, more unforseen variables come into play (see PG and injuries to any outbound Laker).

    yeah, once kawhi demanded a trade, i knew the spurs were screwed. that dude doesn't seem like one who plays games.

    i'm not sure we'll be the beneficiary, but SA is finished.

    That’s really too bad for them then, because they aren’t getting it no matter what. Chris Paul didn’t get that, Kyrie didn’t get that, IT, didn’t get that, butler didn’t get that, PG didn’t get that, you do not get equal value for stars. They can either take the best package offered, or they can wait and wait andn the offers will get worse, OR he walks at the end of the season, if not to us because we don’t have room, then to the Clippers or someone else. In all cases the Spurs are only hurting themselves. We aren’t the Nets, Rob is not a desperate idiot, he was one of the most successful agents around.

    Tomorrow night, the Lakers verbally agree with Paul George at 12:01 am. Lebron agrees after on July 3. Then, the Lakers send Brandon Ingram, Julius Randle and Luol Deng with picks for Kawhi Leonard and fillers. Lakers starting line up will be.....
