The offer just changed to "one of Ingram/kuz, two firsts AND dung" if it were me

Lakers aren't just competing with having a title contender, they have to hurry this up before Boston starts going to the Finals. Boston winning even one title, puts the Lakers 3 titles behind to pass them. Lakers need to win NOW.

A sign that a team has lost nearly all it's trade leverage. Pleeeeease stay!

I disagree, having talent and multiple or as many talented players is never a bad thing especially when one has injury concerns and Lebron is on the tail end of his career. Need that depth of our team to carry us for the next decade. Not just the next 4-5 years.

I'm not sure what you're disagreeing with? Are you against trading any of our kids for Kawhi, or are you saying that Kuzma provides more depth than Ingram?

I've firmly been in the camp all off-season of rather keeping our young players and try to make this an off-season of Signing Paul George and Lebron James while trying to find a trade suitor for Deng so we can bring Randle back as well.

All our young, key guys back with PG and LBJ while giving Brook the room exception would be a Grand Slam off-season and set us up for the next decade for title contending. Yes, we'll eventually have to sign BI and Kuz but the foundation is strong and deep.

WOW! Some incredible statements in that piece from Ainge that really do indicate the Spurs have zero leverage.

Go kick rocks Spurs. Nobody is meeting your asinine asking price.

I'd rather keep our kids too. In fact I only want George while resigning Randle, so I'm all in on the youth movement, making me one of the most conservative posters on this board.

IF we are going forward with a Kawhi trade though, my preference is to keep Ingram over Kuzma.

Thx @OmarE and @alam1108 appreciate the time you took out reading my trade proposal. And keep breaking news here for us...Y'all are part of a select few that puts in that work and trust me, it doesn't go unnoticed.

Imo the only downside to the trade proposal is that Bron and PG would occupy our cap, so Kawhi can't threaten to leave in free agency to join LA in '19 to force the Spurs to trade him. But if we have Bron/PG agree to a 1+1, they can all shed roughly 4-5m each to play with each other if they have to link up via the free agency route over these next 2 summers. If that type of info leaks, then once again, the Spurs could be forced back to the table.

In pertaining to the leverage the Spurs have...like Real said, they have just a little and it's rapidly fleeting. If they want to get at least .50 on the dollar for Kawhi, they need to make a move soon.

Btw, first day a Kawhi supermax can be signed is 7/16. If that comes and goes with Kawhi still as a Spur, then he's absolutely serious about wanting to leave SA.

That wouldn't surprise me, but I'm taking everything like that with a grain of salt.

I do believe LeBron's timing was important, but the C Bags also came out and crushed the Spurs' hopes today as well. I think the Spurs have been overplaying their hand for a while. They thought they could work the system and work the media into a frenzy so that they could convince the Lakers to make a move.

This is great and all but did Lebron really inform the Cavs "early"... I mean today is the deadline. Early to be would have been last week or on Monday of this week which would have killed the Spurs leverage all the same instead of today (deadline day).

    Thank goodness Lakers stood pat

He told this morning when he could have just waited and said nothing until the deadline passed. If he had said nothing, his option would have just failed to get picked up by midnight tonight.

By saying it early he allowed any team pursuing him to get their ducks in order.

yeah i'd way rather give up BI than kuzma

they both have star potential but kuzma's ceiling is higher in my opinion

but i doubt the spurs will consider any deal without those two both involved
