Strongly agree with you. Seen the take of him “sabotaging” a few times and I can’t get behind that one for even a second.

Meh...that's called a tin foil hat theory. He just wants to make his decision whenever. It's up to the Lakers to wait or move on.

I subscribed to this theory up until yesterday when I realized that he's from LA. No way he does this to his favorite childhood team and the other team in town. He would be exiled from LA county if so. Also, he clearly sees AD and Bron doing everything they can to make him feel comrtable. No way he does that just to be a jerk. Uncle Dennis is also good friends with magic. Truly doubt he's a huge a**hole to do us like that.

I don't discount that idea one bit. If he was signing with Toronto it would be in their best interests to do just that. Would not be surprised if Toronto asked him to delay the announcement of his signing to prevent the Lakers getting ahold of higher tier FAs. You can call it what you want but it's smart and calculated and I wouldn't necessarily call it dirty. This is a business, Toronto I'm sure stands to make more money winning championships then 2nd round exits

Waiting hurts Toronto as well. Danny Green is getting offers better than what they can offer, right? Did they even resign or sign anyone impactful themselves? If not, why would Kawhi think he has sustainable success there? Also, were favorites to be winning the championship with or without Kawhi next year unless injury or chemistry issues happens.

Kawhi’s father’s brother’s nephew could be Kawhi, Kawhi’s cousin is former NFL WR Stevie Johnson, who roomed, his rookie season, with James Hardy, who is now(quite tragically) deceased. OMG, ghosts are getting in on Kawhi rumors

The Lakers will just have to sign Davis and let Kawhi walk I think. Not sure if there is any leeway but if there is any risk by waiting, the Lakers should clearly NOT take that risk. Kawhi will be making his decision by NOT making a decision. C'est la vie.

Not really. Their squad is already set and from what I'm hearing/reading is that Danny Green wants to go wherever Kawhi doesn't so he can get more money because this is the tail end of his career so he wants to maximize years/dollars. He said he's looking for 3-4 years and to get paid but that he also wants to play somewhere he can win.

Far as being the favorite I'm not on that bandwagon just yet. Bron was hurt last year for a significant amount of time, first time in his career. Father time comes for his when he wants it, you can't beat him. Davis can't ever stay healthy. So if Davis goes down we are worse then we were last year...There's a lot of variables and it's a long season. I'm not gonna hype myself up, I"m gonna be a fan and enjoy each game and take a see what happens approach. Everybody picking the Lakers to win it, well let's just say vegas is eating that up

For once, I decided to get a night of good uninterrupted sleep. Woke up and saw this thread advanced 25 pages and I thought Kawhi is finally here. Man was I wrong... Indecisive troll with the fickle mindedness of a teenage girl.

Feel like Lebron’s been checking his phone every time he’s on camera at the Summer League, and not looking too happy.

Alright, I don’t usually buy into these sorts of things, but there is zero going on right now, and we’re just having fun. LeBron says something here at the :13/:14 mark that sounds veeery much like “you know how I’m doin’ I’m good, I think Kawhi gonna sign”. Just passing it along, doesn’t mean anything, it’s all fun, but I’m sitting here analyzing this thing with headphones on like a ghost hunter with an EVP.

This is nonsensical twitter speculation. All the teams pursuing him are pot committed, and have their hands tied. The Lakers were smart to at least get a trade for Anthony Davis prior to the start of free agency. So complaining about being screwed over is a wash since the plan all along was to assemble a Big3. Now’s not the time to lose your composure. Would you do this at the poker table after going all in after the flop, then finding out your chances of winning increased the turn, and now the only card left is the river? Hell no you wouldn’t.

I don’t think LeBron would say that with cameras rolling unless he lowkey knew something.
