    Tinfoil hat time to preserve some hope: We have an agreement already, but we don’t want to face the backlash from the other teams.

    So instead of announcing agreement now and all the other teams start whining about our superteam and pressuring Washington to back out of the trade, we don’t announce anything until Kawhi puts pen to paper tomorrow.

    Kawhi signs his contract tomorrow at 9:01 AM without anyone knowing it. We make the trade call immediately after. Lakers release an official statement announcing they’ve signed Kawhi and traded for AD.

    I think he’s jus bored and over it like the rest of us. When he signs now it will still be exciting to whichever team’s fanbase gets him, but it will almost be more like a “finally” instead of pure elation. Also lol at this reply to that Ibaka tweet.

    Ha ha that’s a good one, you could be a writer. I don’t think the Lakers give a crap about being hated by other teams though, and Washington doesn’t even have a real GM still so I doubt they’re worried about what we do outside of our deal with them. I also don’t think there’s any way in hell the Lakers could get Kawhi to LA and sign him without anyone knowing, you’ve got people in Canada monitoring the hotel he might be at, people following friggin flights he could be taking, and people thinking they’ve spotted him at an AM PM in San Diego.
