Kawhi Leonard Discussion: “I’m A Snake Clipper Guy.”

Since I’m new here do we think RDA is a legit Lakers insider, or someone on the periphery who is blowing smoke ?
Also, seeing reports that Toronto sporttalk radio is speculating Kawhi will now sign two year deal w/Lakers, not Raptors, to get him to 10 year vet status. That doesn’t make much sense, from cap perspective, since Lakers won’t have his Bird Rights in 2 years and would have to find cap space all over again.

 

Today in the U.S.A. is fireworks day but for us Lakers fans tomorrow when Kawhi announces he is coming home....

Unfortunately, I can’t confirm any of these reports. I’m quite certain nobody in the Lakers organization has heard a firm decision one way or the other.

If someone is connected to Kawhi’s inner circle they would have a good idea as to which way he’s leaning, and that would be very impressive.

 

RDA was wrong, said clippers were out and deal was done 3 days ago. That clearly was not the case. Now he's just throwing out the inevitable that we'll get a decision tomorrow, which we knew would be the case since we have until the 6th.

 

If the Clippers were firmly out, they would have likely used up their remaining cap space on remaining free agents, especially because if they waited and the Lakers did lose out, they’d have to compete with them, and that would be a tough mountain to climb.

 

I saw his recent tweet as doubling down on the one where he said Kawhi to the Lakers. We’ll see if he’s a fraud tomorrow.

 

Problem I had with what he said was that a phone call was made letting the clippers know they were out. So like @Mr. Rambis stated already if that in fact happened they would have finished filling out there roster

 

True as well. Seems like all 3 teams are still in play. This is crazy.

 

He's in too deep and trying to take another shot in the dark to try to redeem himself. He definitely has inside connections, but the whole "Kawhi to the Lakers is a done deal" thing 3 days ago was obviously not true.

 

The good news is that through the roller coaster ride that is Kawhi's free agency, everyone on LB will know if they should spend next season in the "Whine, Moan, Complain thread" or the "Optimism thread".

We have definitely had peak optimism and peak pessimism while we wait, impatiently.

 

Even if he doesn't come here, I still give him huge props for giving us such a huge consideration into coming to the Lakers. We've had such big ups and downs throughout the years but with signing LeBron last year, and getting Kawhi/very nearly having Kawhi is a great trend in the right direction
