    maybe kawhi was waiting for US 4th of July to announce he's coming to the lakers

    part of me still thinks if he was staying in toronto he would have announced it on canada day

    This dude has to be the toughest free agent in a long time. He already won a championship, he knows money is coming, he knows fans want him, what else could he be waiting for? Just to see who can wait the longest?

    Lol, if I was Kawhi, I’d make fools of NBA insiders by feeding them half truths or uncertainty if I either tolerated or liked them, and then complete falsehoods if I couldn’t stand them.

    I mean yes and no. No free agents we seem to be connected to have signed today, and there have been reports they are waiting on Kawhi. I think the Lakers have a number of players lined up to sign right after Kawhi announces if he’s coming to the Lakers or not. They’ll just get more money if he doesn’t come. I’m tired of this whole situation, but not to the point of us wanting to move on or anything, it’s just old at this point. He’s known what he has in Toronto for a year, and he knows what he has in LA in LeBron or AD, how is it that hard? No matter what we’re in it until he makes a decision though.

    I felt based on my insight to what I know about Kawhi and how SDSU recruited him, as well as what it’s like to lose your father, I should share it to help calm the group down.

    Rondo still will be our starting PG ( one of the worst players in the league last year) , if we don't get Green , KCP our starting SG.

    Yeah we're f***ed ( read not enough to win the title) , even with A.D

    If Kawhi was staying in Toronto, he would have announced it around the time of the championship celebration that way everyone trying to pursue him could have gone elsewhere.

    I’d still never use the word f***ed. Now that we have AD, we still have a superstar to build around for the future. We’d still have an opportunity to try and pair him with another star, even if 2 years from now. We will be ok long term, there won’t be any starting from scratch rebuild at the very least, and we’ll be more fun to watch. Missing on Kawhi would suck, no question, but we wouldn’t be f***ed, or even out of title contention if we can still land guys that keep getting brought up like Cook, Morris, Cousins, McGee, Korver, and yes even KCP and Rondo, possibly Iggy if Memphis can’t find a trade partner, then Caruso and Jonathan Williams. Green isn’t out yet either, Vince Carter is still really solid off the bench, there are options, we are not screwed yet.

    Disappointing to read the Lakers aren’t being more creative with the last 2 names mentioned: Rondo hasn’t been a net positive on any of his teams for the last 7 seasons & Melo has shown that he is well past being a contributor on a championship contender. I was hopefully they would have the knowledge & courage to look elsewhere

    Didn’t we see Lebron carry a finals team that basically had a bunch of minimums on his team in 2018??? We aren’t even out of the Kawhi sweepstakes he’s just taking his time. We are fine no matter the outcome.
