    Gawd I hope this isn't Cp3 redux...

Say whatever derogatory thing you want about the cLips... But Mr. West terrifies me and we need to put some 'spect on his name in dealing with this Kawhi thing.

I think you do whatever you can to bring Kawhi here cause it's the domino that will attract 2max to here this summer as well.

I trade anything and anyone not named Zo and BI.... And then if gun to head they need one more piece, I gotta hesitantly let my guy BI go. It would suck, but we've been sucking, so I got no affinity to our youth like that (cause most those dudes came onto the team this last year anyways).

Besides, winning will speed up the mourning process.

At this point I’d probably actually trade BI AND Kuz for Kawhi (and try to get them to take Deng) to ensure the Clippers or C Bags don’t get him. You get Kawhi here, you probably guarantee LeBron comes, and if PG follows you have an immediate championship caliber team, that’s 3 of the best 10-15 players in the league on one team. We’d still have Zo and Hart, I could live with it.

Oh look exactly what I was saying.

But no, my offers were ridiculous and Laker shaded and the Spurs are going to ask for/receive all of our (or Boston's or whomever's youth) for a guy who is hurt, asking to leave, and demanding to be traded to one city.

We can't trade our picks, right? We have to draft and THEN trade, no?

I’m pretty sure we can trade the picks. The rule is something like you can’t trade your own consecutive 1st round picks or something, and we’ve used our first rounders for years now. We could do the 25th and a future 1st.

LOLOLOLOL ..... anyone else getting the feeling that LeBron and Paul and Kawhi are bringing the Heatles out of retirement even though Lennon was shot and George passed? That they are driving this whole thing behind the scenes with the planning amongst themselves and .... Katie Bar The Door it's now going to happen in Dodger Stadium.

It’s not really BI and Kuz for Kawhi, it’s more like those 2 for Kawhi which gives LeBron zero reason not to come here, which makes PG join a much better big 3 where he wants to live. So it’s BI and Kuz for those 3, that’s my thinking, that’s why I’d do it.

The way the rule works: we must have a 1st round draft pick in either of the next two years.

We can trade the 2018 pick this year, but that would mean we can't trade our 2019 pick. We can trade our 2019 pick as long as we make a 1st round selection in this one.

The rule only applies looking forward so even though we used our pick last season, it doesn't really apply to this one. For instance using our draft pick last summer does not have a bearing on this draft pick coming up in terms of the rules. The draft pick doesn't have to ours it just has to be a 1st round pick.

We can also make deals as long as a 1st within the next two years belongs to us.

I get it. But isn't Bron, PG, Ingram, Kuz (and maybe even Jules) better than, Bron, PG and Kawhi?

Depends if he’s healthy, which I believe he is/will be. If he’s healthy BI can only hope to be close to Leonard one day, and he’s my favorite Laker so that’s tough to say. Kuz would just have to be the sweetener to get it done in my mind, and as much as I love him too, he isn’t a good defender. Leonard is a 2 time defensive player of the year, he’s the best 2 way player in the league, he’s a top 3 player with Durant and LeBron. I love BI and Kuz, but 2 really good players do not equal 1 superstar player. That’s just my take, which some will disagree with I’m sure, and that’s fine. That’s not my opening offer, that would be BI, the 25th and like Zubac, but it would be my “final offer” to make it happen if the Clippers or Boston were offering better.

Remember, this guy had the Warriors dazed and stunned 2 years ago with Aldridge and Pau before he got Zaza’d, imagine if it were him and LeBron, the 2 players the Warriors probably fear most on 1 team.

I went to high school with a guy that played with Kawhi at SDSU... I went to college with a guy who's brother balled with Kawhi at a local park in Riverside.

Thats all I have though so continue on your day.

Zero chance at a buyout. San Antonio would still be on the hook for some money, he'd count against their cap for the full amount and they get nothing in return.

Plus it acts like a waive/stretch so whatever they agree upon gets stretched over the next 5 years (his option counts in the stetch). They'd be on the hook for something like 8 million per year for the next 5 years (depending on the terms of the buyout).
