    To clarify since there seems to be confusion:

    The text I got didn't indicate whether or not Kawhi was a part of the meeting. Just a mention of Magic and Uncle Dennis exactly as I wrote it out for you. I also don't know if Kawhi will want to meet with Magic this week before he makes his final decision - but I know for sure Dennis liked what he heard from Magic. Kawhi will definitely be meeting with Jeanie this week.

    I thought the meeting time deadline today was 3PM west coast but maybe am wrong. If it was it's 3:45 as I type this. That notwithstanding and no offense but was it Magic or Kawhi's people that quickly relayed the blow by blow to someone at AEG? Is this an always on pipeline? Lakers meeting over and AEG given the minutes? Honest question? It's a common thread through many of your posts.

    Of course, but the market dictates what that type of player will get. If we’re not gonna pay it, someone will. Bogdanovic just got 4/$73M.

    I’d still pay Russell over a bunch of role players.

    Great question @LTLakerFan !

    I don't know when the meeting happened. I sent a text asking for details as soon as I heard the same news as you guys. It may not have been tampering because Magic is not employed by the Lakers in any official capacity, but I don't know the tampering rules. In any case, tampering happens all the time, as you've seen with the number of deals that closed prior to the start of free agency. The Lakers have definitely not been innocent in this regard, either.

    I'd rather have Bogdanovic then DSnitch. Hes a better fit and can also handle the ball. He was worth that contract as well.

    There are over 200 free agents this summer. How many have been signed, 30? All these players that have signed already we either had no shot at, or would not have wanted at those prices. Waiting on Kawhi so far, if anything, has prevented any dumb deals by us. Like I said earlier, at these prices we could sign Kawhi, or maybe 2 quality starters for 13-15 mil each, which would you prefer?

    @davriver209 Players that are really interested in teaming with LeBron, AD, and potentially Kawhi will hold out. The Lakers recognized that they would lose out on many free agents by playing the waiting game, but to them given their confidence in Kawhi it's worth it.

    Brogdan traded to Indy for sign and trade for 5/85.

    $17M is not bad, I thought he was solid last year for MIL. But now MIL are out a big piece to support Giannis.

    But think about it, we’d really only actually get 2 players at best with the way these contracts are going 13-18 each right now.
