I think you have to give Rob some credit here. I think you read too much about Rob not having his mind around the cap but all you have to do is look at the Jemerrio Jones signing to know.

Without Jones, the salary going out from our package would not allowed us to reach max due to the 125% rule. We needed that to fit and since Jones was non-guaranteed, it was an easy contract to move, and it all worked out.

There’s no way he could have pulled that off without some extensive cap knowledge.

It's the damn media reports that eats away at your sensibilities.
