    i don't get the issue with magic meeting with players or why there even had to be a deal made with the league

    he's not employed by the lakers anymore so he's pretty much just a civilian

    So doesn't this then preclude Magic from being able to have dinner with Kawhi and his close friend, Jeanie, owner of the Lakers? I get the position the league is trying to argue but considering the league reversed the Chris Paul trade, they really should stfu about this.

    That makes zero sense.

    Has Magic played for the Lakers before?
    Has Magic coached the Lakers before?
    Has Magic had ownership stake in the Lakers before?
    With all that on his resume he was still able to jump on and off TV making comments on other teams and players.

    Was it tampering then?

    Is this tampering?


    (fyi: Bird is still employed under an official capacity with the Pacers)

    This is a ridiculous use of the tampering rule when there has been more apparent violations that have been overlooked before.

    Yeah...what's crazy is that by rule AD can't officially be a Laker till July 6th, yet it's been widely reported he'll be part of the "official" pitch.

    But they ain't making a stink of that. Goddamn the hate for Magic is real.

    It’s all for nothing. I’m sure other teams are whining but it won’t matter.

    Magic can go to Kawhi’s house today and talk as long as he wants. League can’t do a thing about it.

    The new 30% max would then be 32.85m with a 109.5m salary cap, but now we can offer Kawhi 32.5m instead of 32m which is only 350k away instead of the 700k that we were away from his true max from before.

    Reading all the tea leaves, it definitely feels much more of a real possibility than I ever imagined.

    If the Lakers were "scrambling" then what the f*** is the NBA doing with this tampering nonsense? What does ESPN call that? Fair?

    An idea dawned on me while watching this video...

    What if..the Lakers were the ones that leaked the news that AD would not waive his no trade clause, to make it easier for them to move that extra salary. They finalize the deal and them bam, we knew he was waiving it the entire time.
