    Are you married or have a significant other if so you would know even thought it shouldn't have to be said that you love them but it does not matter you still have to keep on telling them that anyways.... People like to be told stuff they already know... Even at work you did a great job at a huge project you know you did a great job yet when your boss tells you that you feel even more better about it.

    How do you ease Kawhi's potential concerns about KD's comments regarding it being a pain in the butt playing with lebron (in terms of media scrutiny, drama, attention, expectations, everything blown out of proportion, etc). Lebron is still a global megastar with his own orbit. kawhi won't get sucked into that, but im sure it would annoy the heck out of him just being around it.

    I agree that business, marketing, and overall off-the-court opportunities are important. He wouldn't be considering Los Angeles if they weren't.

    But we've learned already that if the team sucks, these guys aren't going to be interested with LeBron being the sole exception. You lead with the basketball product to make sure he understands where he stands on the roster, how we're going to utilize him with AD and LeBron, and then you move on to the next topic.

    After that, the marketing part is easy. There's no stronger brand in basketball than the Lakers.

    Kawhi has already been dealing with negative press for over a year. It wasn't until he and the Raptors were in the Playoffs that his narrative started to change. Getting out of San Antonio he was as a cheater, liar, lazy, and greedy jerk who just wanted to go to a big market and didn't care about winning or the team. He helped rewrite that narrative.

    With the Lakers, LeBron will absorb almost all criticism. There'll be loud voices of dissent around and of course shots thrown his way, but nothing out of the ordinary for what Kawhi has already been dealing with. Not to mention, that winning with the Lakers cures all ills. There's nothing quite like a great Laker team in Los Angeles. Kawhi will get most of the credit and little of the blame.

    ...has to strongly imply that Ky/KD are BK bound.... Which is making the Knicks scramble to sell a Kawhi/Butler package.

    In a league of team-ups, is Kawhi interested? You would think he's gotta be if he wants to prolong his career with his current underlying tendonipathy. Without Lowry, Siakam and later Gasol, he can't load manage and ballout in the postseason, where he really made his marketing brand potential stand out.

    Playing devil's advocate, if I'm the Knicks or the clips, I don't sell Kawhi on a team-up. You have to somehow stand out from the pack cause if it's a team-up scenario you're trying to paint to Kawhi, how does anything compete in the short-term vs the Lakers' AD-Bron-Kuz pairing?

    I feel that leading with Basketball would be a mistake just for the simple fact its boring. First impressions are very important and you dont want to start off with him being bored and checked out right away.. If anything you can start with Trust to get him hooked. I would have BB in the middle so you can end with a bang...

    Don't discount Kobe's influence... Kawhi and Kobe are friends and I'm sure Kobe is also explaining to him what it means to be a Laker. I think Kawhi is more like Kobe... wired sort of the same way in terms of being a competitor.

    Oooh 6 days ago. I could have guessed with 99% certainty last summer that Kawhi would opt out of a 21m player option for more money.

    It might be boring to you but not to Kawhi. That guy loves basketball and he will want to know what the Lakers envision his role being with LBJ and AD. I think basketball must be paramount in this pitch. If not, we could lose him. I can guarantee you that the Clippers will be honed in on how they envision Kawhi as part of the team, load management, etc.
