    Also, I don’t buy this whole, “Kawhi wants his own team” narrative.

    Even Kobe, the most alpha, leader of the pack player in existence needed a second running mate and was MORE than willing to defer to the right running mate.

    “Taking on the challenge” of the Clippers will lead to frustration and requesting another trade. Ask Kobe how it went from 2005-2008.

    If you watched any part of the GS Rockets series... I saw that he wasn't getting the calls he was used to getting. That's why after game 1 or 2 Harden started whining at the post game press conference.

    Why do we continue to give this Arye guy a platform. Please everyone, stop posting his stuff on this forum. If Eric Pincus, who is as trustworthy as they come and who was a member of the forum at CL is calling this guy out what more do folks need.... We're not taking shots at any member, folks want to try and bring stuff up, but this isn't it. There is nothing to discuss. (shrug)

    hmmm...i've read stein for many years, and the subtext here is:

    he's been told the lakers have zero chance, so he'll be surprised if and when kawhi signs there.

    and stein usually tells it straight.

    Some folks just refuse to seek help haha.

    We just have to have Kawhi commit at some point from June 30th to July 5th. Have him sign that contract on July 6th to 32m and then hop on a conference call with the Pels and ATL to get the deal done by adding Moe & Bonga.

    The funny thing is the narrative that we absolutely need a 3rd team to complete the deal. No we dont. We can just trade Zo/Bi/Hart/Moe/Bonga/4 & future picks to the Pels. Pels can then do a follow-up deal with ATL to dump Solomon and pick swap the 4th.

    But if the deal has to be 3teamer, LA and ATL have to "touch" within the deal, so Moe/Bonga for future protected picks works.

    You’re allowed to say all of this here as long as it’s censored. As for Woj, he is great at one thing, breaking news. Once they made him an analyst and he started sharing his opinions, it was clear he wasn’t good at it. It was also pointed out by Pete Zayas or maybe Harrison Faigen that Woj used to write the occasional opinion column when he was with Yahoo and slam teams that probably hadn’t given him the access he wanted. He’s sleazy, he plays the game, that’s how he became the #1 guy in breaking news, you give him access and he will talk you up, you deny him and he will rip you apart.

    It does, but some choose to self-censor. I do it all the time because I sometimes want people to really be sure of the swear word I’m using and the site might censor most of a word where I’d like only half of it to be censored. :D

    Woj got Joe Dumar in BIG trouble in the past...got him fined like $500k...he was writing positive pieces about the Pistons for YEARS and broke every single big piece of news from the Pistons for a period of time

    I think Woj is getting similar intel now from either the C Bags or Clippers or BOTH.

    I have no problem with Woj if he said “this is my opinion” before his statements but he doesn’t. He states them as fact based on “sources”. Anybody could be a source, teams that hate us or are trying to get the same players etc. I think if theses guys information can not be verified, they need to state that this information is only their opinion. Either go on record or pics or it didn’t happen.

    A point they brought up on Locked on Lakers was something like if you don’t hear Woj say “my sources are telling me”, “I’m being told”, “I’ve been hearing”, then it’s his opinion. If he’s saying he thinks, or he feels, and he doesn’t cite his sources, he’s just stating his opinion, which really doesn’t hold much more weight than any other tv analyst. And even when it comes to “sources” it’s agents, team execs, GMs, and they all have an agenda and there’s a tradeoff for information given, access for information, good press for access.

    We trust journalists to evaluate the quality of their sources and for that to be reflected in reporting. Stein does that, imo; woj does not.
