Hope this isn't another George situation.

honestly, you get kawhi, and lebron's not a necessity anymore. leonard's that good, imo.

I'm now EXTREMELY curious if the Paul George thing ends up not working out... Unless we get really, really creative here I'm not sure we can get all three unless people are willing to take cuts.

If we can get Kawhi while giving up just one of Kuzma, Ball, and Ingram I think you HAVE to do it. (assuming he passes his physical).

You get Kawhi and LeBron and I think you're beating the Warriors.

You get Kawhi, LeBron, and another guy (George I guess) and I think you're a dynasty in the making. Keep one or two kids around (I'm starting to believe it's Kuzma) and you're changing the landscape.

You know, maybe we can swing Kawhi, maybe we can't. But I take such comfort in knowing that we have guys like Magic and Pelinka in our FO, laser focused, and doing exactly what they have to do to put us in position to make this happen, if possible. If we don't get him, it means it wasn't in the cards.

Interesting that ESPN had this segment earlier today

Beadle is a huge Spurs fan, and Jalen is a hater, but both felt like Spurs would not help facilitate Kawhi to the Lakers by any means.

If Kawhi holds to the "Lakers are my target", then it shouldn't. They HAVE to scare away everyone else though. Kawhi and his camp HAVE to make it clear he wants the Lakers or bust.

The interesting thing is, that means the Lakers might need to keep 2019 cash available to hold the threat.

Oh he's coming. Now, Lebron coming will be set up for 100/100 if the Lakers trade for Kawhi. Question now is, will a BI, Randle, draft picks, deng be enough for the spurs? Or will they demand Kuzma instead of Randle?

I trust Woj more, but even in Woj’s tweet he said LA was the target with Lakers being the preferred option.

So it kinda does feel like Kawhi really wants out of San Antonio and to a big market. Not sure if there’s going to be too much pressure from his camp to only go to the Lakers.

I think it's a fallacy to think the Spurs would put a cap on that, but I'm sure they'd be d***s like Indiana and do their damnedest to force us to let go of real assets. Ingram is a real asset. Randle and Pop got along, Randle is from Texas.

I get that, but I just don't see the Spurs getting bent over that bad. They can always refuse to trade him and wait till better offers come in. Some teams might even be willing to do a rental. Yeah, Kawhi and the Lakers have leverage, but it's not like the Lakers can just say, "you get Deng, picks, and Josh Hart," and the Spurs HAVE to take it cause Kawhi refuses to extend elsewhere. So, I think your premise is largely correct, within reasonable limits. But I think only giving up one of Bingram, Kuz, or Zo pushes those limits.

It's only a complication if the Lakers can't pull a trade off this summer. It's the same situation we had last year where you and I both wanted to get Paul George here asap. Right now, the Lakers need to get creative and find a way to land him while leaving enough room open to get their guys. Tall order, but give me Kawhi first and let the rest of the chips fall where they may.

Don't want to get my hopes up, but wow... did not see this coming. Didn't think he'd actually come out and say he wanted out.
