So... what is an "averagely charismatic" player then?

    Actually never mind.

You love Lebron. Just admit it. All the passion you have for him...

I would take Klay over Kawhi. The dude is the perfect example of a SoCal guy. Nothing gets to him and he's his own person, and ohh yeah one of the best two way players in the league and shooters of all time. Kawhi is more of a complete player than Klay is but the way you handle yourself, being extremely low maintenance means a whole lot to organizations.

I have real concerns of Kawhi and his personality fitting with the media attention and bombardment that our players get.

I would take Kawhi over Klay but I would be happy to have to settle for Klay.

I would be happy with any star free agent after LeBron.

feel like the definition of charisma is different for different folks here.

i agree that lebron hasn't really shown himself to be a natural leader. neither was kobe, for that matter. whereas jason kidd, magic johnson, even charles barkley had the kind of charisma i'm talking about, but that's not the technical definition, which is:

compelling attractiveness or charm that can inspire devotion in others.

kidd had this in spades as a player, but it didn't translate to coaching. phil jackson and steve kerr both have that quality (think the opposite of thibs).

i don't think average charisma makes sense as a concept. i'm a big fan of thinking of human qualities along continua, but charisma doesn't lend itself to a spectrum. at least not one that contains "average" as a descriptor. it's present or absent, and if it's present, i suppose there are degrees, but only the top end, if that makes sense.

anyway, leonard doesn't have it. that's ok, though, because he kicks a** at basketball. i'm sure nick young and james harden are very charismatic fellas at da club.

Ingram at least talks at times, laughs on social media (remember him, Zo and Kuz at the movie theater laughing about the slim man poster coming soon). He is constantly going back and forth with Kuz and Zo on fashion on Instagram. Kawhi doesn't do any of that s***...

Trying to get a hold of Kawhi too can be really difficult too

the fact that kawhi completely shies away from social media is a HUGE plus to me

wish more players would be like that

I agree with this statement to a certain extent

But NBA players especially in LA have never had so much attention and scrutiny with them now that we are contending again with Lebron. I just hope Kawhi can handle that. Going to the Finals and all that stuff with the Spurs is not the same media attention as it is in LA.

I totally disagree with that statement.

I love seeing guys active on social media. They've got personalities and brands to sell, I like it.

On the other hand, if a guy doesn't want to be out there, I get that too and respect it. He's just got to understand he's losing opportunities by not selling himself. For instance, Jordan Brand is dropping Kawhi at the end of the year.

A good example of how this can back fire on a team or even a league with guys not being big on social media is what's happening with MLB and Mike Trout (their poster child). The commission of MLB recently came out and said that they would like it if Mike could get out there more and that the league would help him promote his brand because baseball doesn't have what the NBA has which is a lot of different personalities to bring the fans closer to the game.

Young has clown charisma, not leading man charisma.
