What if Lebron and George decided to take a 1+1 (player option) with us? Would that increase our trade leverage with the threat that Lebron and PG13 would be willing to restructure things next season to fit in Kawhi as a free agent?

Great resource for all those interested in concocting Kawhi trades and super team alignments.

    Yes heard that too.

Lonzo is being shopped by the Lakers.

I doubt it. He's the one with the lowest trade value.

I'd get rid of Ball if it meant getting rid of Deng

It's not that I don't trust you guys, but he's the one with the lowest value and he's the only one of our players who plays a unique position. Ingram and Kuzma are both somewhat redundant and have greater value.

If they're offering, that's not a great sign for Lonzo, but it's probably only as a first attempt so they can keep guys they like more. I can't see a team like San Antonio being very interested in Lavar Ball. A team like San Antonio would love to replace Kawhi with Ingram (well, they'd obviously prefer to keep Kawhi).

I know that. We're good. I am just having fun reading all this. Chris Mannix and Ramona Shelburne said SAS wouldn't want him.

The only other reason he would be dangled is being attached with Deng to clear more cap space, but I am just speculating; and this is assuming he is even being dangled at all ..

I dunno man, Pop was pissed after the Pau trade, and he definitely looks like a man that holds a grudge, he’s the Belichick of the NBA. BUT, he’s not the GM, Buford is, and he’s a fantastic one and I’d like to think he’d take the best deal out there. The Spurs are almost over, Pop can’t coach forever, Kawhi their last superstar wants our, Ginobili and Parker are almost done, this is the end for them. Get the best pieces you can if you’re them.

That’s why it would make it make sense to me. If they’re shopping Zo, then like D Russ they’d think he’s the guy that’s gotta go, and you always start with the lowest offer.

Yeah I mean if you have a legit shot at this you trade anyone. The point of these good young players is to eventually win a title with them, or build them to be able to trade them for stars. It you have a chance to get Kawhi, which would almost undoubtedly lure LeBron, you just got 2 of the 3 best players in the league, if not THE top 2 players in the league (Durant vs Kawhi is arguable). Then if you add PG to that, you’re talking immediately the 2nd best team in the league, only showing GS respect at the top spot because they’re the champs.

Eh? LeBron and Kawhi are both Finals MVPs, I like George but he hasn’t won anything. LeBron can handle the bit spotlight. It was a little discouraging hearing Woj say on SC today that Kawhi might not want the spotlight and scrutiny of the Lakers and might prefer the Clippers for that reason, but eh, we shall see.

My doubts about Pop aren’t just based on media. Trading Leonard to us opens the door for us to be a super team again. One that would be good for several seasons absent injury. I can’t see Pop doing that unless his hands are truly tied.

I question a trade to Boston for similar reasons unless Kyrie or Tatum are involved.

If Leonard wants to be here he needs to be adamant that it’s here or nothing. He won’t resign anywhere else.

agreed that i would not deal away more than 2 of the kids for kawhi

ideally i'd do randle+lonzo but that wouldn't be enough. kuz+lonzo or kuz+BI are the likeliest possibilities if they do make an offer

i would be really bummed to see those guys go but for a guy like kawhi i would do it in a heartbeat. and no way i'd make the deal before making sure he agrees to an extension first. we don't need another dwight scenario

Plus we literally just watched Indiana do this last year. That deal ended up better than it looked but still. I’m not underestimating teams not wanting to create the next Laker dynasty

I’ve had a feeling for a while that the Lakers and Kawhi could cross paths this summer. I’ve been advocating Lonzo, Kuz, Deng, 2 firsts, 2 seconds for Kawhi and Green (preferably not Mills or Gasol).

    Give me:

    Plastic Chair/IT
    Green/Hart
    Kawhi/Ingram
    Lebron/Vet Min
    Lopez/Zubac

If you could get a Raymond Felton or someone of that ilk that can hit 37%+ from 3 to bring the ball up, you’d have 4 deadly shooters in a 5 out offence with Lebron handling with his driving and kicking out game.

I don’t think SA will be interested in trading with us at all. If they are they probably ask for BI, Kuzma, Hart, 2 or 3 firsts. That leaves us with an option to dump Deng via Lonzo only. Seems like a big price to pay. If PG signs, and Lebron looks likely, I can see us doing it though.
