Just trade him already, tired of this Kawhi BS. Derozan will cry after Pop yells at him and Kawhi won't be the player he once was. Good trade for both teams :D

Or it could be Dwight Howard 2.0 again...

Lakers traded for him, never got anything back in return when he walked.

Who’s to say Kawhi decides he doesn’t want to play second fiddle to LeBron which Shams/Wright reported a few days ago, and then Kawhi just leaves for New York or Brooklyn where he spent all his time recuperating last season and who’s Uncle actually is from there?

Lakers should stand pat. See if Kawhi can return 100% again from his serious injury, be a top 5 or top 10 player again. Then in 2019 go shopping for him or any of the other 9 all-stars in the market while still having all the young core still intact.

Who in the 2019 class does this fanbase thing we can get??

KD and Klay aren't leaving a dynasty. Butler and Kyrie want to team up in the Eastern conference. That leaves us with Love and Kemba Walker.

We are walking a VERY dangerous line with not trading for Leonard right now. The raptors will contend in the East with Leonard, be able to offer him the most money, and will show him a ton of love as a fanbase. Leonard wants anywhere but San Antonio right now and I wouldn't be surprised to see him resign there.

We literally just saw this happen with Paul George, who was even flirting with the Lakers while he was on the Thunder, and lost in the first round to a team led by a rookie. Does everyone really have that much of a short term memory???

We don't contend with a 35 year old LeBron, a borderline all star (Walker, Love) and the young core, unless Brandon Ingram makes SERIOUS strides in the next 2 years. And looking at how raw he is now, he probably needs twice that timeframe.

Dangerous line? Kawhi missed 73 games last season and was borderline average player, not even close to top 30.

Even Woj’s article today quoted GM’s saying they’re not sure Kwahi will ever be the same again.

Trading for him now is more of a “dangerous line”.

I've posted earlier about how his injury (quad tendonitis) isn't that serious. And if we do trade for him, we get a medical evaluation, so that point is moot.

Also, look at how healthy our young guys were last year. Ingram is seriously underweight and missed a lot of games. Same with Ball. It's not like they are injury free.

If Kawhi was back to his all-star self teams would be having a bidding war. But guess what? There is none.

Even the Spurs don’t want to offer him the supermax until he plays a game for them.

Kawhi could end up being Brandon Roy for all we know (or more like “don’t know”).

Do you even know what his injury is?

And like I said, we get a medical evaluation upon agreeing to a trade, so I don't see how this is a problem. Plus, with the questionable health of our young guys, it's not even a debate, imo.

Medical evaluations mean diddly squat. Being cleared because you’re 100% healthy does not mean you’ll be the same type of player like you were before.

Did you read the latest Woj article today?

    http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/...ni-camp-las-vegas-next-week-according-sources

There's an eagerness among prospective teams to see Leonard on the floor before committing significant trade assets to him. Rival executives had previously considered Leonard a top five player in the NBA prior to last season, but he didn't play to that level in his brief nine-game regular season return as he continued to recover from the quadriceps injury.

There's no mechanism with which to measure the quad injury's impact on Leonard's game until he returns in the regular season, but teams are forced to consider those uncertainties when discussing trade terms with the Spurs. What they're willing to offer in a trade - and then pay annually on a max-contract extension to re-sign Leonard - is different for a Top 5 player than it would be if Leonard's injury turns him into, say, a Top 12 or a Top 20 player.

There's little, if anything, teams will witness at a national team mini-camp that can begin to answer questions about Leonard's fitness to become an All-NBA level performer again. Still, it can be visual confirmation on the basics.

"His (physical) can tell us he's healthy again, but it cannot tell us if he's gone from a top five player to a Top 15 or Top 30," one GM told ESPN.

The Spurs haven't allowed prospective trade partners to talk directly with Leonard, nor his representation --- and it's unlikely that permission will be granted without an agreement in principle on a deal to acquire Leonard - if even then. In most NBA deals, no medical information is exchanged until an agreement on trade parameters is reached.

You clearly don't understand tendinopathy. I've actually had the exact injury and rehabbed it myself. I would recommend the following reading:

    https://www.painscience.com/articles/pain-is-weird.php
    https://www.painscience.com/articles/repetitive-strain-injuries.php

Instead of crying "injury" - learn a little bit more about the problem at hand and let's have an intelligent discussion.

Kawhi is not a soft p**** like George.

He ain't staying in Toronto. He won't be having love sessions with Lowry.

Nobody could know that George has NO BALLS. Kawhi is a weird cat who functions differently than most people.

Appeals to authority are a dumb argument. We clearly knew better than Mitch and Jim when we were all against the Mozgov and Deng contracts. Come on now...

This is the best news that can happen because we all knew Kawhi was getting traded to the east, the spurs will not help us. No matter what. Kawhi going to the cold place known as Toronto Canada is better than going to Philly, clippers, C Bags etc. He'll still be a free agent next year and I'm sure if he really wants to be here it'll happen next year without gutting our very talented and underrated assets.

Your argument is you know more about Kawhi’s season ending injury than the Spur’s own doctors do. Easy peasy.
