I'm trying to figure out how Byron think starting Randle will help ruin him further. A real head-scratcher here.

Lol. Just because Randle is starting doesn't mean Scott is going to play him 35+ mpg from here on out. I wouldn't doubt it if he found a way to still play him only 28 mpg or something whack like that. I'll believe it when I see it. Randle starting is a START....but I need to see Russell back in the starting lineup too IN PLACE of Lou Williams, NOT CLARKSON.

You forget goal #1 to Byron is to win games. That means heavy minutes for the vets. Kill me now.

What's the point of winning games if it doesn't mean much in the big picture. Season was a lost in Nov/Dec and we should have shifted to developing our young players. Plus, they are some of our better players and would have won us some games if they were developed probably.

Sweet game from Julius with 15 boards and 11 points. Those boards were just huge in this game. 50% shooting again as well.

The thing is that the way to win games is the same as the way to develop our young guys: start the young guys and let them all play 30-35 MPG. At least JC, JR, and DAR should be out there for the majority of every game they're able to suit up.

He has an elite talent for finding the ball. There's not much else to say. He outworked Duncan a few times last night.

Another double double. He's stacking them up.

(LA) Double Double Leaders by Season (Last Six)
    2012-13 Dwight Howard 48
    2010-11 Pau Gasol 43
    2011-12 Pau Gasol 42
    2013-14 Pau Gasol 30
    2014-15 Jordan Hill 22
    2015-16 Julius Randle 20

He could surpass Pau's 30. I mean, he might even climb into the 40s given the tear he's on.

I think he's got a great chance if he stays healthy to get up to about 35 or so. That'd mean 15/28 games he gets a double-double? I could see that happening for sure.

I wonder how many rebounds Barkley averaged in his rookie season in probably more minutes per game? And how many double doubles total with more minutes?

EDIT: 8.6 in 28.6 minutes on the RBs

Barkley played all 82 games, but started in 60 of them. If Julius plays every game from here on out, he'll start 61 games.

    Here's their side by side:

    Barkely /stat/ Randle
    28.6 /minutes/ 27.4
    14.0 /points/ 11.1
    5.2 /FG made/ 4.3
    9.5 /FG attempt/ 10.3
    54.5 /FG%/ 41.8
    16.7 /3PT% / 33.3 (Charles only shot 6 threes, Julius has already shot 24)
    3.2 /off rbnds/ 2.2
    5.3 /def rbnds/ 7.8
    8.6 /total rbnds/ 10.1
    1.9 /assists/ 1.7
    1.2 /steals/ 0.6
    1.0 /blocks/ 0.4
    2.5 /TOV/ 1.9
    3.7 /Fouls/ 3.1
    21 /Age/ 21

They're pretty similar. The big difference is of course defensively. In his rookie season Charles had 95 steals and 80 blocks. Right now Julius has just 34 steals and 22 blocks. At the rate Julius is on now he'll finish with 50 steals and 33 blocks.

For even more bleeps and giggles, how about Dennis Rodman? He was 25 years old his rookie season so he was a full grown man with "man" muscles. Took him 5 more years to average 12 rebounds a game.

    http://www.nba.com/history/players/rodman_stats.html

So for their rookie, first year in the league seasons who is Julius behind? And this is completely with the knowledge that Randle has had a crap coach who hindered his first year development rather than helped it. Just like Russell. Great job Boron you bleeping idiot.

I think Julius is just so strong that he must be moving opponents out of his way legally in heading toward where his good instincts tell him the ball is going.

Love some of the moves Julius made. Had a nice up and under. A nice spin and got back to his strong hand. His patented fadeaway. He's just being a lot more patient. Being more of a willing passer. Reading defenses better. Really great to see.

He was pretty stellar tonight. 22 and 12 over 50% shooting. Beast mode was on display. He only made one big mistake and that was the turnover in crunch time. Still learning, but man . . . he had some very nice moves tonight, and still killed the boards.
