This is what all the shooting coaches, and guys who break down film for a living have always said as well. I know this is only a short clip but I hope its something he's aware of.
I want him to stop trying to add a 3 ball. I don’t think he’s going to get it. His time would be better served adding a consistent mid range pull up.
Randle is restricted, if we want him, he is ours. If a team wants to pay him max money, then honestly great for him, and we’d have to move on. Being that it’s May, and free agency isn’t until July, I don’t see this as a big issue though.
The Lakers' stance has been the same. The priority is 2 MAX players. The team wants to keep Randle - provided it comes at a tolerable figure - so long as he doesn't obstruct that plan (or the plan is dead because they can't land 2 big fish).
Woj podcasts have always been great. Glad Randle is a guest given whats to come in the next 2 months. Listening to this now. I'll be so pissed if we lose this guy for nothing.... I know Woj has to ask the tough questions but it would be been nice if he didn't start a question off like "most teams if they had the 7th overall pick would have signed him to a 4 year extension by now.."
This was coming. Laker's won't pay max so we have to wait to see what the offers to Jules are. We can't give a "we're taking you no matter what" answer and Mintz is playing the field, letting teams know Jules can be got by a big spender. Pretty normal marketing really.
Just jockeying for position. Rob says they are in constant contact = you know we really want you, but at an affordable price. Mintz says we don’t know where we stand with the Lakers = come and get me for Max $$$.
You're not alone. It took me a minute to figure it out as well. At first I thought Real was saying its going to be a close, neck and neck finish to see how this pans out. Are we losing Randle or keeping him.
And this is why the man is forced to write essays....haha. Anyways, I see that Jules and his agent are making their rounds...
I'd laugh if the Mavs pursued Jordan again after the fiasco from 3 years ago. The Mavs pursuing Cousins is a no-brainer. They always want to make a splashy move and they signed another FA coming off a major injury in Wes Matthews. Who was the fallback after the aforementioned Jordan fiasco. As for Randle, that one was a no-brainer from the get-go and why I've said they are the main competition to the Lakers and is the most likely to offer him a big contract. Who the Mavs pick at #5 will definitely factor into their FA decision because if they draft Bamba, then obviously more likely they throw their $ at a PF like Randle. Whereas if they draft Michael Porter, then they have Barnes/Porter at F and more logical they pursue C options.
wes wasnt fall back, dall had cap for both guys, cuban just felt like throwing around more $ to wes as a sign of good faith n not being a duche like dj
I misspoke. I didn't mean fallback in the sense that the Mavs only signed Wes because they didn't get DJ. I meant moreso DJ was the priority and when that fell through, they had to throw more $ at Wes to make sure at least he still came.
