It's not ALL about the money, it's all about that base.

Yeah I know it's each year but that's what we usually refer to when talking about contracts ... the first year. And you're right about the tax part.

i wouldn't be mad at Julius if he signed a max offer should someone make it. He knows the Lakers could match, so it's not like he's really spurning us. Obviously our goal is to get the other pieces and then re-sign him at a reasonable price, but I couldn't be upset with him if he didn't wait for things to happen.

Great Picture! Love it when I see both Randle and Luke smiling together because we know Luke pushes Randle and is more hard on him than anyone on the team

I think the lakers should immediately offer him something close to the max. Day 1. Flatter him by proving he is valued. Then make a push for paul george or lebron. If you think you can get both, than offer deng with as many draft picks as needed to get rid of him. Lonzo/paul george/ingram/lebron/randle/Kuz/hart and maybe lopez if he wants to be part of something special (pay cut) will win a ring. If you strike out on PG and Lebron, at least you locked up the Beast. Fill the roster with maybe avery bradley, jj reddick type guys and shoot for the playoffs.

This is what I echoed a few pages back about Randle and his agent willing to take an extension around $12 million before the year.

Max is $25M. We need to try to keep under $18M. He's not worth max yet.

It’s time to add a right hand. He can’t take the next step or leap in his game without ANY right hand. If he could even take right handed layups we possibly win this game, that last left handed layup on Zeller from the right side of the rim was game over. He’s added some shooting range, he’s improved free throw shooting, his defense is so much better, now add that right hand.

in his defense, he's likely already matched LO's career right hand total.

True. But sadly LO never fully reached up to his potential in large part because of that (and lack of consistent effort), while Randle still has plenty of time to surpass LO as a player.

Randle needs to tie his left hand to his waist this entire summer and work on that right hand non stop

Also in his defense there was plenty of contact on that play. Could have easily been free throws.

But also critiquing him: Kuzma was wide open on that play and Julius should have passed him the ball. Julius wanted to be the hero and failed.

Randle has developed into a solid asset and we could gain a lot by trading him

Do right handed players get blamed for " having no left hand " ?

I never got this argument .

It's not like Julius is always going left on his 1st move , he sometimes goes right before going back to his left hand to finish
