I'm not an anti-Julius guy LT, you know that. I spent a long time defending him on this site. I just think he's still got some tendencies that should have been broken and he's got some shortcomings that are going to stick with him. I still wish he'd shoot more from outside. I still wish he'd finish with his right hand more. It bugs me seeing him take his time to get the ball inbounded (he of all people should see the benefit of playing with pace). I also think (and it's a team-wide problem) if he attacked Jordan early the same way he attacked Capela early, we might have gotten off to a better start against the Clippers. Then again, it wasn't Julius's fault that Austin mother-effing Rivers looked like Damian Lillard in that game. However, he's been very good defensively, his energy is still strong, and he's still an incredible mismatch on the break. I want Julius to succeed and I'd be happy to see that happen here. I'm just not sure the FO feels the same way.
oh lol, I'm thinking of @KareemtheGreat33 but seriously, I've changed. And you can't prove otherwise with proper IP masking.
Brook is coming back to take his rightful position in the starting 5; you know, lumbering down the court and bricking 3's. Sorry, Julius.
I'm starting to be swayed into thinking Julius could be a 30 minute starter as a small ball center next year. Certainly worth considering depending on who else is out there or might be available. I saw Enes Kanter will probably opt out, so you never know who might be available via FA or trade. I'm very curious about the positional logjam, and truly not convinced PG and LLLLL is a good idea. Def not convinced Cousins is worth the risk either. The FO has their hands full this offseason, and my interest is very much peaked before the deadline on any potential deals.
Enes trolled LLLLL, I remember that. Probably not a fit, but just an example of players that might be available.
This escalated pretty quickly ... Julius isn't a perfect player , I already said this some pages ago .. I just don't see better options right now at C on our roster or in the future at a cheap cost . As for Cousins , his PNR D is really lacking and he's a huge part of why NO is a bad defensive team . It is a bigger concern than his always talked behaviour issues imo
Eh. Kuzma is a bad defender too. I'll take the offensive weapon that can effectively take over a game when needed. We aren't exactly in a position to turn away top end talent.
Yeah I agree ... unless the ultimate goal is to win a title ... but yeah I still will take a good playoffs team for 4 years over the current crap . What's the potential of this lineup over the next 4 years ? It's a huge stretch but still I guess a more likely scenario than getting Lebron. Lonzo PG 13 Ingram Kuz Cousins
So what you're really saying is we should ignore your takes on all things basketball......and The Last Jedi.
Hindsight is 20/20... Who knows if Okafor would have been better now or would have improved with the change in regimes? You had questions about Hart because he never was the uber-athlete most fans would have preferred. Fair enough... Deng? Who knew that he was THIS shot? We all knew Walton was a quality person but so far is learning on the job as a coach to mixed results. Randle's D had flashes the last few seasons but was never this consistent albeit in "controlled" minutes. Kuzma? I wanted Jordan Bell. Wrong on me... Ebanks...well, that's a whole 'nother episode from the past. Johnson? Journeyman written all over him even where he was before.
I mean one step at a time. Get the talent here and let the chips fall. I like that team a lot. In 2 years they'll be an absolute contender. Keep in mind we can still have Hart, Nance, and Bryant on the bench. We could also probably nab a good veteran or two. Definite playoff team.
