We are not giving up essentially 3 first rounders for PG. That's just way too much for someone who is rumored to come here anyway.

But it couldn't have happened because George was not eligible to sign an extension, thus no guarantee of a long term trade.

That's what I meant. He's obviously gonna wait for all nba nod to come before signing anyway.

Have to give up something to get something. Losing randle, clarkson and the top 2 with houston's 2 might be paying a little over, but at this point, you have two up and comers, some good bench guys and Zubac who looks like he could be a star in the making. Lakers need to start winning. Cant wait for George in 2018. Waiting isnt working. They need to strike now. If they dont get that top 3 pick, its a moot point anyways. That top 3 pick is huge for the immediate future.

If George makes an all-NBA team, he's staying in Indiana. Dude isn't turning down 70 million. But I'm not sure he will. It goes by guard, forward and center. That means there are 6 spots for him. Davis was on the fence for forward or center since he plays both. Now that Boogie is there, Davis will go in as a forward.

Davis, Lebron, KD, Greek Freak,Leonard are all getting the nod before him. So does he beat out Jimmy Butler, Draymond, Aldridge, and some others?

That's why a trade this summer is probably the only way the Lakers get him.

There's not a chance in hell I'm giving up Randle/Clarkson/Hou 1st AND the Top 3 pick. F*** no. Never going to happen.

Remember. Kwame for Pau. Kwame for Pau. Not everything has to balance.

No, I remember Marc Gasol for Pau Gasol. Kwame was a piece of one ply soiled toilet tissue to make the numbers work for the CBA. One team got 2 world titles, the other got a franchise player who was a former DOPY. I'd say, that trade looks pretty legit for both parties.

Front officers are way smarter currently than they have been because of the complexity and details that go into the CBA.

Plus, Bird know what he has in George; expecting a Paul Gasol type deal to happen is improbable. IMO.

Hindsight, please. Marc Gasol was a raw prospect at aged 24. He was pretty much Zubac at the same age.

There was no way for Memphis to have known that Marc was going to turn out the way he did.

Even if it was good scouting, would Sacramento trade Mozgov+Zubac for Cousins?

No, as Moz's contract isn't good. I was just commenting on the Gasol inclusion.

I meant to put assuming Moz was expiring, but considering Zubac as with the Gasol inclusion, would they take it for Cousins?

No one ever talks about the Bynum / Bird connection. Larry is probably still pissed how that turned out and may even feel they got damaged goods from Lakers. Larry's a C bag. Larry's not going to do anything to help the Lakers if there's some other way to move PG. What's that .... the C Bags want him bad and have all those assets? Hell yeah he'll trade him there and let them worry about resigning him.

well 1) we didn't trade Bynum to Indy, we traded him to Philly and yes they were upset with the condition Bynum was in when we traded him and 2) Bird has only traded with Ainge maybe once. Bird said recently in an interview with Tania at the LA Times that he's loyal to the Pacers and while he appreciates his time in Boston, he's not going to do any of his old teammates any favors. In fact he said he's told Ainge "no" more than once over the years because Ainge usually comes with a lowball offer and Bird said he wasn't about to help him out.

We traded Bynum to the 76ers. He didn't join Indy until after it was pretty clear that he would at best be able to handle backup minutes. I remember they brought him to backup Hibbert at that point. Oh how the mighty have fallen.
