his shot isn't pretty, but some of the important mechanics are good, imo--he keeps it high and doesn't overbend his elbow, which are two things that help with consistency. he's spoken more than once about wanting to stay on past this year, which is interesting. we'll see how things play out, both in terms of his play and our finances.
He and Brown will be fighting it out for the wing spot off the bench. I’m rooting for them both to do well.
With Brown and I guess Walker both out, he should get a lot of burn. I'm interested into how we plan on using him.
Sadly he did not look so good tonight in a lot of minutes. Hope Brown fares better when he returns. Not sure we can depend on JTA for much. But it was only one game.
He will struggle when not playing with the stars. He's a glue guy who must be invisible in the offense which can only happen when you have AD and LeBron out there
he had a rough game shooting the ball and lost confidence immediately. we also had him guarding small, quick guys, and he simply can't do that. that needs to stop.
Yeah he was unimpressive on both sides of the ball which did not bode well. Pika - I see what you’re saying but I don’t see how he’ll get a lot of minutes alongside Lebron and AD. He looks like he will be fighting for minutes off the bench not spending much time with starters.
He might be too much of an offensive liability to play consistent minutes here. Our offense is gonna be anemic enough as it is.
He has to make his play for time at SF IMO. Too small for PF, not seeing much juice as a SG either. He will be competing with Reaves, Brown, and maybe even Christie.
Has to hit shots. Love the effort and the pop he gives athletically, but if he isn't hitting s***s, he's at the end of the rotation.
Boy did he look rough tonight. Defensively he fits the bill but offensively.. yikes. He has to knock down wide open 3's at a Rajon Rondo clip. If he can't do that, he probably shouldn't see the floor unless you surround him with shooting and that's a luxury this team doesn't have.
think he needs a defined role and familiarity to thrive. we're not the best place for that, but i think he can figure it out. he was bad all over in preseason game 1, but again, part of that was that we chose to use him very weirdly on defense.
He struggled a bit early on with the Warriors too until he figured out how to be the glue guy with the stars. I like how he was in the first substitution, he needs to play the bulk of his mins with Lebron or Westbrook.
we still had him on weird defensive assignments. he can't play booker. not even close. why are we insisting he guard smaller, quicker players? that experiment needs to end.
