moving him to Houston would do us no good because we're getting their pick. Same with Clippers, theirs goes to Boston.

IF he can net us a 1st, it'll be in the a playoff team in the 20s, which leaves Blazers, Raptors, Spurs, Mavs, and Cavs. Mavs are in the market for a big, especially if JO decides not to sign. Cavs will have two 1st round picks so they may be willing to unload one of them.

virtually 4 If you count our early 2nd round pick. Almost as good as a late first plus the money isn't guaranteed.

Doesn't Hou still have New Orlean's 1st? That is heavily protected though and it's possible that the pick will fall within the protection if NO continues to outperform.

^ they do. Rockets get it if it's in the teens. Currently it's projected at 14. No team will give up that early of a pick for Hill though.

Houston might with DH out for a month, playoffs are more important for them. But i am not sure if Hill is not tradable only if the team picks up his 2 year option. That could be the problem.

Not sure we want to trade Hill to Houston which helps them but possibly worsens our first round pick from them. Plus they are my least favorite team out there so I don't want Jordan going there.

That pick will be in 22-26 range, so this is not such a big difference if we get some asset in return. Depends on what the FO is thinking for next year, but i would probably sign Davis to a long term-cheaper contract(3years-9-12). He is younger and brings the same on the table with the exception of the 15-18 ft jumper from Hill(which i hate every time he takes it).

I'd much rather trade him to some team out East looking to make the playoffs.

A team like Milwaukee could use him now that they've lost Larry Sanders. Maybe Brooklyn wants some more depth... That kind of thing.

Clippers could use Hill with Griffin out a while, they don't wanna drop too far in the standings. Too bad they have nothing to offer or I'd try and squeeze all I could out of them.

I see you working, Weezy. But what would "pipe" on LB look like that we could at least pass it around?

That one went over my head. All I meant was they traded away all their first round picks otherwise I'd try and get one from them. Remember, these aren't Sterling's Clippers, new guy might be open to dealing with us, he is crazt after all.

Just wondering but would you all be alright if we got a future 1st round pick instead of a 1st round pick that we could use this year?

I know a 1st round pick is great to have anyway, but given where we are now I would rather have the 1st this year.

I think a future pick would be better, we will have 5 rookies next year 2-1 rounders, 2-2 rounders + Randle. If we dont make some trade on draft day. I think it will be very interesting, beceause Mitch has a lot to work with-not just buying a pick, but maybe make a package for a good player, if a team decides to tear the roster down.

I'd take any pick we could get. If we got a 1st in any season, I'd be happy with it. We should definitely get a pick though. A first rounder for sure.

You make some good points. Plus having a future 1st can help fill out the roster when we start contending again.

Next year we'll have enough low salary guys to feel out the roster with all the picks we have for this upcoming draft.

If that's true and since he has veto power, we might be stuck with him the remainder of the year.

I'm not against keeping him if we can't find the right offer, but it'd be a weird turn of events if we try to move him and he more or less says no and voids our trade.

^ If we can't find someone to give us a 1st (current or future) before the deadline for him, I'm fine with keeping him until the draft. If he likes the city of LA that much then that might be a more attractive idea to him. He could find a larger marketplace to chose from that route. If get the first (Okafor) or take Towns at 3-4, I don't want that much invested into Hill. I'm not sure Towns would be ready for starting minutes like Okafor would be, but either way they'd need significant PT and Hill isn't worth that much money in a limited role.
