Honestly I'm not sure there's a real way we could pull this off. But I disagree with the assertion that Clarkson will be as good as DeRozan. I hope that's true, but it's unlikely to be objectively true. He might shoot better than DeMar, but I have a hard time imagining even optimistically that Jordan becomes a better DeRozan.
OK. Let's do this still... I will let you, or whoever, be the judge whether my claim of "JC, under the same usage conditions, is as good as DDR would have been". Let's make the stakes something light then
I remember there was a bet on one of the Lakers related forums where the guy who lost had to create a thread with the title "I'm a pretty, pretty princess" or something similar. If my memory serves me right, he also had to make a serious argument for why he is a pretty, pretty princess. I didn't know about the bet, so the thread came as a big and pretty funny surprise. I'm sure you two are creative enough to make it even better
The biggest takeaway and remInder for me is that JC only started playing basketball in 9th grade. So while he's older than Julius and D'Angelo, I think his upside may be just as great.
...the best part about Clarkson is that he does not stop working. Without it, he knows that he does not stand a chance of sticking. I'm looking forward to see if he has or can make progress on the defensive side of the ball. However it would help his case if the squad did not have a glacier in the middle so he can recover to his man.
- He's holding a basketball camp in Corona for kids. - Unlike other camps by NBA players, Jordan will actually be there most of the time, actually doing teaching. - JC didn't start playing basketball until 9th grade. Before that, he was a track athlete. I'm not surprised, his body does resemble a track athlete. - He was excited when he heard Luke was hired. Wants to get to work with him soon. - He wants to set up a locker room shrine at Kobe's locker until his jersey is retired. - Doesn't worry about trade talk. He can't control it. He focuses on his work in the gym. - He doesn't understand people that hate on him on Twitter or Instagram. - They play a flashback clip of JC telling the radio hosts that he will NOT wear a Clippers jersey during a dunk contest. He says "Hell NOOOO! I'm not wearing that!" - He said last year was tough. Had to keep focusing on getting better despite all the losing. - Being a Filipino-American, he's proud of his heritage and receives a lot of support from the Filipino community. He will be going back to the Phillipines in August. - He says he no clue who's going to win the championship this year. - He says it's extremely difficult to get into the playoffs in the west. He said Utah was devastated when the Lakers beat them in the last game, because it destroyed any chance they had to get in.
Thanks rev! You the man. Although JC is wrong on his last point. I think they're were mathematically eliminated before the game... I'm sure Utah was still trying to win though.
