Lin needs to do this, not always wave kobe off but know when the right time is to be aggressive and take it himself.

He just needs to read the game like any good pg. If he or someone else has a better opportunity to score he should go there. Kobe is Kobe and will demand the ball at every chance as Kobe always feels has a good match up, its up to Lin to quarterback the team for most of the game.

I'm still unsure what Lin didn't want Kobe to do. Did he want Kobe to screen or clear out?

I agree actually, but I suppose it's a good start. At least Lin looked much more assertive last night. That was certainly a good sign. What Lin actually means will come more and more obviously as those two get along.

If I remember correctly I think on that play Lin wanted kobe to clear out.

If at trade deadline it doesnt look like well be making the playoffs, do we trade Lin away if he has some value for a pick(s) and still have the option to re-sign him in the offseason?

Taking a risk there. Unless we could get a lottery pick, I'm keeping him. If he's playing that well, why not keep him and re-sign him?

Lin plays well and we re-sign him for half what he's making. That's what I'm hoping.

Im talking ensured lottery. I would do it in a heartbeat after having a talk with him as far as letting him know why the move is being made and you hope he can wait for our phone call in free agency because there will be an offer coming from us.. Something along those lines, Im thinking fastest and cheapest way to rebuild, this would be one of the moves if were in the scenario I mentioned.

I thought there was a rule against that... I feel like there should be. I mean if we could get a pick and then get him back then sure do it, but I feel like someone has tried and they blocked it...

I dont see why that would be considered against the rules. Business is business. You cant prove anything. At the end of the day, we both like Mudiay. If were heading to lottery than we trade Lin and hope we land the PG of our future either through the draft or perhaps free agency with somebody like Rondo if hes not locked up or another PG.

I'm just saying I think it's illegal to trade a guy and then he comes back. I think that's not allowed. If it is, then go for it for the right price.

Otherwise I'll hold onto Lin and either waive our rights to him at the end of the year or try to get him a contract asap so we can use our cash elsewhere.

I'd only let Lin go if Rondo and Dragic were very real possibilities in FA. Otherwise, Lin should be here for a long time. He's the best PG we've had in a long time, I'd rather keep it that way.

I respect your opinion doc brown but holding on to Lin because "hes the best PG weve had in a long time" but dont think we should invest long term for him because IMO hes above average but nothing spectacular. It could partially be cause of surrounding cast dont get me wrong, but thats like making a new chick that youre boning your girlfriend because you dont get laid that often lol.

I know its early on and maybe it has something to do with the talent but thus far Lin has shown us nothing except that he gets overwhelmed at times and can be shaky with his decision making. I want to see how the season plays out first but he's sure making it easy for me to choose otherwise.

Yeah,we simply got to wait to see how he ends up doing throughout the season cause other than that, this will end up in semi-arguments based off of speculation and the past. Could end up being traded, could end up re-signing on a team friendly contract, could end up walking away. Too many variables in the reasons I listed as well IMO.

One thing I noticed is that he gets his *** kicked out there. Anyone notice the scratches on his shoulders?

I don't know why, but he doesn't get the calls that other skinny PGs get. Felt bad for him last night.

And of course he definitely wasn't very aggressive. He looked shell shocked out there.

he's not super quick, so he ends up making a lot of contact. it's rare for him to get to the paint cleanly. imo, he initiates a lot of the contact, he just doesn't get james harden calls. nor should anyone.

he's looked like this basically since the linsanity period ended. I still think he's a backup pg in this league. a good one, but a backup. if he's your starter, you're looking to upgrade.

I don't know why the lakers can't manage to find a decent pg in a league filled with them, but this is a very long tradition at this point. it's like they decided magic was perfect, so...let's just punt from now on.
