To me he looks back, very much what he was last season dunking everything and being competent on defense and the boards. No complaints about him really the last handful of games.
very good to see him playing at this level. Nice to see our guys feed him against his former team. There's usually extra motivation for players, but you don't always see us capitalize on that. Good for him.
Holy smokes! 18, 17 and 3 blocked shots. Told you I wasn't worried about him. Oh yeah, and about both our bigs playing great on the same night - that happened all right!
Took it to his former team. He's looked really sharp out there the past few games. It's nice to be able to exploit a matchup advantage like the ones McGee and Dwight had against them. Straight up abuse.
^ Almost. Lopez would fit really well as a shooter, but I am not going to complain about our centers, they are doing a terrific job!
glad he's picking it up, I was one of the skeptics when season started, didn't see the hustle, energy and smart bball till now. Mcgee/Dwight might be the 2 rest C rotation we've had in a long time, no drop offs IMO when either one plays interms of shot blocking, reb and the lob threats
You can never have too many shooters, but I would probably not trade any of McGee/Dwight for Lopez. I just love it how we abuse other teams under the basket on the regular basis. Most of the league is not equipped for that due to the ridiculous shift in importance of shooting at every position. I would love nothing more than for the Lakers to destroy this trend the old-fashioned way - with great, tough defense and lots of points in the paint, preferably in the form of dunks.
McGee/Dwight are much better getting up and down the floor than Lopez does. It works well defensively and offensively the way we need and like to run.
I'm loving the chemistry between JaVale and Dwight when they are not on the court together. They both seem to legit want the other guy to dominate at the Center spot. Both are first to jump up from their seat to cheer a good play by the other guy.
Thought he did great job in the first quarter defensively that helped get us out to that early lead. Had the Hawks running scared. Blocked, deflected, and intimated.
he was really engaged and in the passing lanes...feel like he's been inconsistent in that regard this year, but good last night for sure.
If McGee can play the passing lanes as well as he has for the past couple games, there is barely a drop off between him and Dwight. If they are out there with AD too, we're deadlier on defense.
I’m loving the blocks coming from both of them, not to mention AD. I can't remember a time when all of our centers were a serious block threat, regardless of who is in the game. However, I do remember Sacre defending the paint.
