I’d have zero issues bringing McGee back, as a backup. We signed him to the minimum, that was a steal of a contract for what he gave us to start the season and when he finally looked recovered from everything. He’s not a starting center that’s going to give you 30mpg, he’s an energy backup or situational player that can give you a great 15 mins, that had been his role before he came here, and if he stayed that should be the role he returns too. I’m not opposed to signing someone like Vucevic if no big name free agents want to come here as our starter, he’s good and he gets us in the right direction. I’d also target Bogdanovic from Indiana because he can flat out shoot.
I don’t want rondo anywhere near this team unless he retires and becomes an assistant coach, not even for the minimum. McGee, fine, but not rondo. Not in the crucial backup pg spot, with Lonzo’s injury history, having to be out there 30-35 mins with his horrible defense and careless turnovers. I want him gone, only second to KCP, who I require be gone.
I bet KCP crossing his fingers and praying Maginka misses out on a MAX FA this yr and will want to continue to roll over the cap for another year
kcp's two more total BS contracts away from klutch not having totally robbed him of 75 million dollars! so glad we were the suckers to get him half way there!
i need to brush up on bird rules, but if kcp re-signs with us at minimum, do we then have full bird on him? if so, i could totally see us giving him that with a wink-wink whatever the balance would have been on his 75 mil. cuz klutch owns us and all.
Love the effort, heart, hustle, and energy he brought. Gladly would welcome him back at the right price. He is better than the 11 MPG he's been getting for the past 5 years (MPG prior to LA). To preserve him I wouldn't want him playing more than 22 though. He wants minutes, starter's role, and a chance to win. I'd say it depends on what route we go this summer but he might be able to still get those here.
