To be clear...not a fan of injuries to any opposing player/team no matter how vile they are to our Lakers... But SwaGee is the gift that keeps giving. The dubs f***ed up in not making him a priority this last summer. Now they just lost their starting center and Dray/Boogie may be forced to return asap from their injuries...which isn't ideal.
Basically whenever someone tries to post him up and shoot over him, gets a spiking block, like 100% of the times...Its just fun to watch. Its crazy how tall this dude is. If you wanted to create the perfect new era C, it would be McGee when it comes to physical attributes. Could be a litte stronger but thats about it. Length, speed etc. is superb.
"That's cute" When Richard Holmes of the Suns tried to post Javale up and attack him, where Javale basically just erased his shot with another block... Javale is a big reason for this impact on defense:
What that tweet tells me is that our perimeter defense isn't great but Javale and Chandler are cleaning up our mistakes.
Wow at Gobert who was the 2nd coming of Bill Russell (hyperbole) protecting the rim and now he can't carry Javale's jock. (still hyperbole[?])
i've been pretty forceful in revisiting the summer's choices that annoyed me then and annoy me now, so it's time to eat crow on javale. what a story. this guy had all the talent in the world and was first immature, then miscast as a budding star, then unfairly disgraced as a waste of said talent. i wasn't sure if the gs revival was fool's gold (because honestly, lots of folks can succeed around that much talent), but he's capitalizing on that chance here in la. i hope chandler is imparting some wisdom in terms of longevity and overcoming early adversity, too. anyway, without mcgee's unexpected (imo) contribution, we'd be in a ton of trouble right now.
