He still gets around pretty smartly with that weight though plus he can shoot and still play some decent defense and not hurt them.
Dude can start in a pinch because he’s a pro, but he’s best in short 5 min stints off the bench for sure
The way the Lakers bench celebrates every time Dudley makes a nice play pretty much tells you how much the team needs him. He's such an underrated player for someone who comes off the bench. Seems to always make the correct plays. Lots of young players could use a guy like Dudley. I hope he becomes an assistant coach for us after his career ends.
on the contrary, I'm impressed How do guys like him and Melo, and now Harden excel when they are overweight. Not so easy.
Can't ask for a better end of the bench vet. Thought he gave us a strong 7 minutes with a lot of energy and good D. Hasn't played real minutes since the 27th, but gave a nice little stretch tonight.
Just a clever player , don't mind him getting a 5-6 minutes strech a game depending on the matchup. He brings defensive IQ
Many times you see veterans try to prove they still have it and force garbage shots. Not Jared Dudley. He's out there still trying to make the correct play and get the other young players on the team involved. Even when he has an open shot, he will try to give it to the other dude knowing they won't get much playing time. I love this guy. It would be a massive failure if the Lakers do not somehow keep Dudley involved in their franchise.
After the game, Schroder and Bron were singing his praises As I've said before, he's versatile and smart enough to do what he wants after this (triple threat-- coaching, front office, broadcasting) and I'd love it if that was with us. Another cool thing I saw from the Bulls game, he was coaching Trez during a timeout.
Interesting stat... Lakers are #1 in defensive rating. But that won't mean anything to these loser voters who will give it to Giannis again because they are desperately looking for a LeBron replacement.
