Great game by Zu tonight. 25 points, 11 rebounds, 1 block in 30 minutes against Jokic, Plumlee, and Hibbert.
This can't be ... this kid is already figuring it out. Imagine if he got the playing time Randle, Ingram, and DAR does.
Randle has many 2x2 and more 3x2 than same aged Magic. Russ has scored 30, crushing same age record for threes. Glad for Zu, but I won't downplay the others' accomplishments.
This kid has some major skills at such a young age. He may or may not turn out to be a great player, but a player this polished this young I would give plenty of time to find out what he's got. He's one player I would not want to include in any deals if I can avoid it. He and Ingram would be guys it would be very hard for me to part with.
We are 29th in the NBA for a reason. If we had players with attention to detail, we wouldn't be there I guess.
i agree with zu, but had russell said this, he'd be getting killed right now. they should all be embarrassed by their entire season, not just the last stretch.
Zu had a huge game. He is right now the only bright spot on this roster. Lou Williams (gone) and Nick Young (benched) were the other. Ingram has been underwhelming, although has improved every month and has become less and less terrible. Russell and Randle have disappointed with their development, Russell more than Randle. Deng and Mozgov have been abysmal. Clarkson has been disappointing. Huertas and Calderon were fodder anyway. Nance, Black played up to expectations I would say.
I agree with this. I think the problem with Nance is he's sort of shown his ceiling. He's not quick at all laterally and has generally heavy feet which makes it tough for him to guard quicker bigs or shooters. Going into the season there was a feeling of, "hey this guy might be able to supplant Randle if Randle doesn't improve," but I think that sentiment should have died by now. The last thing Nance can do is develop that jumper and I think then he's just about reached his ceiling. Don't get me wrong, he can still be a valuable bench piece, but I think that's where he's going to stay.
