In an otherwise disappointing season, I'm excited about Zu. Let's not forget it was Mitch who drafted M Gasol. He has an eye for big men projects (I'm not sure Zu is really a project. Just young). I'm hoping him and DAR can build something the 2nd half of the season. Zu can finish. DAR can shoot. I'd run those 2 in PnR 25 times a game.
Great game for Zu. I'm impressed by the quick reads he is able to make on the court. He knows when he's been in the lane too long and that pass to Deng underneath the basket when he was double teamed was nice. Such soft hands. He's not afraid to get down and dirty going to the floor for the ball. He was talking to the coaches during every time out trying to learn things from them. Great attitude and hustle.
This very well could be true. What makes it even more exceptional is that he was drafted right after Damian Jones and Deyonta Davis. I admittedly wanted Cheick Diallo, who went right after the Lakers' pick. I was on the bandwagon of wanting that athletic shot blocker.
Good news / bad news department: Good ..... The Lakers could start Ivica Zubac soon Bad ...... Most of these nicknames and phrases are lame, such as Zubacsanity NO2: http://www.silverscreenandroll.com/...-start-ivica-zubac-stats-quotes-analysis-goat
Outstanding game from Zubac. He's got skills and it's terrific to see him get these opportunities to showcase them. Nice job by Luke and the staff to jump right in on developing him and giving him minutes. We've got a lot of young talent on this team and Zubac is right there with all of them and has a nice high ceiling I think. His offensive game is really good and he's a decent shot blocker as well. Plus, as they say, you can't teach height.
I've been really impressed with his passing and how quickly he can get a shot up. No hesitance, a lot of times he just raises up and shoots before the defense can react. That's unusual to have that confidence as a rookie. Starting really doesn't matter to me as long as he gets the majority of the minutes out there
It was mentioned in a breakdown video of Zuhammed Ali, but his natural instinctive spacing off the ball is so key. How he gets to spots on the floor to receive the ball and get FG attempts is really underrated.
You could use translation of his croatian surname it litteraly means the tooth. So tooth fairy or claw or just tooth could work
I dare say he is a combo of Marc and Pau's game. Zu has Marc's mass but he moves more fluid in a way, plus those flip shots reminds me of Pau's offensive repertoire sans the histrionics. I thought Zu would be brought along slowly believing Moz is a placeholder at the 5 until that time comes. Well, it looks to be arriving faster than anticipated.
