I don't see any way this happens. I know everyone is down on Mozgov and high on Zubac for now, but let's keep in mind the competition we're facing here. Mozgov would look like Shaquille O'Mozgov out here in Summer League.

I'm glad the scouting team did the due diligence to make this move when it presented itself. As we all know, there is no concrete plan after the first couple picks. Major props to the scouting department to consistently find value with all of our picks.

I don't give Jim credit for this since all indications are that he works part time, but to Mitch and co. If Jim Buss is cut loose, I sincerely hope Mitch has a longer leash.

Can I half like? Agree everything except taking a kind of unnecessary shot at Jim. Plus he may very well be involved with his observations on player talent?

How is it fair that Jim gets blamed for all of our faults yet discredited for any success? That is the definition of a scapegoat imo. He is the boss and responsible for all of his employees' accomplishments and mistakes.

If he was there full time doing the work, he'd get more credit. All people who work respect leaders who work with/alongside them, and are involved deeply in the process. Hard to find anyone who will say Jim is deeply invested in the process.

Since he is an unproven commodity, I don't think he has that luxury. He has set himself up to be questioned.

That being said, winning cures all. If he can succeed by rarely being present, but by hiring and putting the right people in place, I'm ok with that too. I'm just not in a hurry to give him props.

Is there any indication that he rarely shows up to office recently? And hasn't he put the right personnel in place? (Mitch, Ryan, Luke)

Zu has very good coordination, correct instincts and nice touch on his shooting. You can't hack him as he is not a liability at the charity stripe. Zu will be brought along at a comfortable pace by the staff. Show up here and there, steal the show and be a reporter's dream interview. He'll be alright... Mr. Popular can play.

I smile inside when Zu admitted to praying that no one else drafts him but the Lakers in the second round. I want him to show that trey just for s**ts and giggles.

Do you have any accounts of him working hard being in the office daily? I've yet to see anything but mention of not around often. Not somehow communicating interest in upcoming free agents along the way like all other franchises regardless of rules. There are ways to make that happen through players, agents, etc.

From my understanding, the Lakers have one of the best scouts overseas.

He deserves much of the credit for this draft pick.

No, but I'm not the one making the claim. There were some reports that he was disinterested when he was younger. But none lately. Post them if you can find them.

I believe that the Ding hit piece from Jeanie intimated he wasn't all that dedicated.

After his pre FA sabotage, I have lost all respect for Ding and refuse to acknowledge, read, click, share anything he writes. Unfollowed him on twitter. Every self respecting Laker fan should do too.

On topic: Zubac just told Trudell and Thompson that he hasn't ever really worked out in his life. He lifted a few times, but nothing concrete. Tim is going to work wonders for this kid.

Wow look at Marc Gasol in that photo with Pau in the link. Tell me Zu couldn't grow his hair a little and same length beard, a little bit of makeup and go onto a movie set to play Marc Gasol in the coming big screen story of his life. ;) Ummm when he gets his braces off of course. :p

What a Gem of a draft pick!!! Jahlil Cousins who??

I have no doubt Zu will fill out and be solid. The young man though is on the whimsical side personality wise so I hope he takes the regimen seriously. Then again, Zu has been on his own since he was 15 so maybe it won't be a problem. His game reminds me of Ming though Zu has an edge on defense...quicker to the shot, better timing and has more active hands.

During the season, I'll see Zu with the rock beyond the arc and I will be muttering to myself "shoot the three!, shoot the three!!"

I hear he shoots the 3 almost as well as Bynum.

Sooo .... let me see if I've got this right. Think I have had an epiphany. By the time the season starts Zu is guaranteed to be a little stronger, with his first ever exposure to modern weight training and a little faster still and a little more explosive ..... just by the start of this season.

Zubac is going to be pretty good in a couple years!! :Crazyartest:
