I think it was the start of the second half where he scored through and over 3 defenders. He's gonna be solid.

The thing that stood out to me most is how damn mobile he is for his size.

He can really get up the court quickly and moves his feet so well.

This guy is a lottery talent.

How about the last second short pivoting J he put up as time expired and got nothing but net but didn't count. He said he could shoot the ball and his one J attempted plus multiple great looking free throws went in.

I'll say it again .... one BIG observation .... to build on going forward ....that was full on display last night with those massive legs and lower frame of his .... from the only highlight clip I could find (anyone know where there's any others?) of "young" Marc Gasol playing the game ..... was him 6 years older at 24 in this poor quality, but you get the point highlight clip of his rookie season with Memphis.

That Zubac at 19 is already similarly polished and "coordinated" as Marc, and already as big as he was at 24, in this clip.

I don't know if a big man camp the Pete Newell kind is out there for him just so Zubac can be further indoctrinated in the finer points of post play. Mr. Abdul-Jabbar where art thou? Thy next pupil awaits...

I'm sure Kareem is up for it enthusiastically, but I wonder how much he can do physically to teach at his age.

If Kareem's body can handle it, I would have Zublaca meet with him in the gym at every opportunity.

and @Barnstable...both good questions, The Captain has settled down and became an erstwhile writer of books and thought provoking social commentary. He also had a not so recent heart operation I believe. Doesn't Lantz have one? I really, really, really want Zubac to improve what is already there. My other idea was Bill Walton. I just don't know his back is...

I would love big Bill Walton too but his back was sooo jacked up years ago it cost him his great (IMO) "Color" career announcing. He literally had suicidal thoughts for a period of time from his own accounts.

For both DAR and Zubac and anyone else that wants to learn, Luke should call up his true fan and friend Kobe Bryant and have him (ask him) (pay him Jeanie) (whatever it takes) ....to come in with occasional 2-3 hour post up, footwork and any other damn "work" kinds of sessions to help these guys grow their games. He's the most all around skilled player in league history. Freaking GS has freaking Nash. Let's do this Lakers! Whenever Kobe and the team are both in town and he can fit it into his schedule, and is in the mood.

He could teach Zubac the Sky Hook even .... if that's something the team thought might be useful. Just Zubac's not ever going to get as high off the ground as Cap always could, but maybe with quicker, more sophisticated footwork swinging left and right .... he could probably get some off in situations. Unless he's a weany like Bynum was and afraid to try any in a game because Phil would have gotten on him. He actually said that.

That poor bastard trying to guard him. Zubacca moved him a good distance with each bump.

In his interview they asked him about the blocked shots, he said they were good but he should've had more if it wasn't for Ingram.:Kobe Snickering:

...this year is a developmental stage for Zu, sit and learn. There will be occasions, I can see Walton and co. throwing him out there in a regular season game baptism under fire. 24 would be a great teacher but he'd be just as great in offseason regimen and workouts. My first two options for Zu are unlikely...so Hakeem Olajuwon?
