The one thing I remember about Mihm is that sweet hook shot. It was a legit jump hook shot, it was smooth, and was not really blockable similar to the skyhook. Very few players now have that shot, and none I can think of shoot it exactly like he did, very top of his jump, arm fully extended, smooth.
I remember thinking he scored 30 in his first game replacing Shaq. I don't think he ever did it again. Crackers in his ankles or something
Loved Mihm, my favorite player during the dark times. That video brings back memories which made those years palatable. If Zubac turns out as good as Mihm without the disastrous injuries he can have a long career.
It was just an unfortunate accident with his ankle getting jacked up that bad. That was the first year I joined CL because I was excited (before we knew he was "hands of stone") because we were getting Kwame Brown and I was searching for news on him and found the site. Mihm had a nice J too and good hops and could really throw it down. I really liked him too.
Mihm would just go off every 10-20 games or so on pts and reb. No where near often enough to be serviceable. He'd average like 7/4 then go off for 25/14 one night. Sometimes he'd go on blocking rampages for a few weeks too, which was weird because he wouldn't board or score but was clearly ok physically to be blocking like that. Too bad, he did flash some great big man skills.
I remember it was Kobe who wanted to trade for Mihm. He was Mamba endorsed just like Wes Johnson lol...That Kobe very Jordanesque in a lot of things including talent evaluation
Yeah I agree, part of me wishes his ankle didn't disintegrate and he could of stayed to be our back-up center in the championship seasons.
He's coming to dominate! Zubac as starting center lol www.cbssports.com/fantasy/basketball/news/lakers-ivica-zubac-expected-to-play-in-nba-in-2016-17/
Here's a pretty great breakdown of Zubac from the folks at Lakers Pulse. http://lakerspulse.com/scouting-report-ivica-zubac/
Better believe Shaq's thanking his lucky stars he didn't have to play against this guy. A younger, better version already than Arvydas Sabonis in his European prime years that Shaq never had to play against.
Hey ROFY .... you never did comment on how it made you feel to have your "Son" from a past relationship* now be the head coach of the L.A. Lakers?? * CL
