I thought the trade for the 39th was part of a larger Deng package. But it seems we really like this guy. One of the strangest trades of this current FO. I've understood each of their previous transactions... This one still remains tbd. Hopefully in years to come we can all look back and say how much of a solid deal this was.
Wow! Definitely an interesting move. Based on what I've seen, he isnt NBA ready yet. Hopefully he comes in and wows some people.
good news for sure...get to see what lvl hes at n if it turns out well he could still be an asset to move deng with
He looks fluid, moves pretty well with the ball for a guy his size. He seems to have the passing gene but I really wonder if he can pull off slashing at NBA speed/strength though. On the other hand, I really like that he doesn't appear to be rushing things, especially as a playmaker. Excited to see him in SL.
Even if he isn’t NBA ready, if we see him in the Summer League we can see where he’s at against borderline NBA talent. That’s pretty valuable with no real down side I guess
Looks like he’d be great in our quick push offensive schemes and style. Might be a great prospect for a backup for Lonzo in a few years.
Wow I am loving what I'm seeing. Can't wait to see him in SL and after being around Magic for some one on one conversations. But holy crap he is lucky to be alive after the fall he takes 30 seconds in. Yikes! Back to the clip. Think of this guy in another 1, 2, 3 years with this organization developing him? Him and Lonzo!!! Ugly shooting skills now though.
Agreed completely. I just wonder if he's ready for even that level. It'll be an opportunity for the Lakers to see just how ready he is. I hope he makes a good impression.
I'd almost prefer he stays in the US with our G League team and our player development staff instead of going back over to Europe. I know he's likely not making the roster this year so lets keep him under our roof and with our coaches. Even if its our G League ones.
I would love that, but I think he stands to make more money overseas as things are. That's usually why guys like this prefer to stay in Europe. Our G-League rosters just aren't competitive financially.
Thankfully they are increasing the pay for the G League players this next year but your right compared to the leagues overseas it definitely doesn't compare.
Yeah the trade is still a little confusing but I think it was acquired to be another tool/weapon to use but no deals ended up going through. Say we had a potential deal to move up but our guys was gone before that team was able to pick.
