You aren’t fair in your assessments at all. For every awful defensive play you post, I can send a good one back. Russ hasn’t been great to start the season, but your hate for him is going a bit overboard.
LOL! No hate. The dude is just not a good fit and plays a dumb brand of basketball. As a fan who’s watched the better part of every season for the past 35 seasons, I reserve the right to defend my opinion, BASED OFF OBSERVABLE FACTS, regarding any underperforming player. You’re right, showing actual footage of him, as well as his actual stats are unfair. Hilarious.
I don’t care how long someone has watched basketball for - that doesn’t mean anything to me. There can be a 10 year old with higher basketball IQ than any of us. I have no issue with observable facts and constructive criticism. But I do have a problem with confirmation bias. Looking for videos of poor defensive plays and using that as a catch all isn’t good. I can send you videos of Russ’ play against Miami where he took a charge and had block in the 4th. As well as great defence on Duncan and Herro on multiple possessions. I’m not saying he is playing great defence or shooting well, but our problems aren’t all at Westbrook’s feet and he is a work in progress who should be supported and afforded a season to show his worth.
high standards are to be expected from the fan base of the greatest sports franchise in the history of the world Russell Westbrook is a HOF'er, and has done things in his career nobody else has. But he still has flaws, and it's par for the course for our fan base to point it out. At the end of the day it doesn't matter. Hopefully pairing him with a couple of champions will help him get to that championship level as well. It's early, but criticisms of below par performances are to be expected. He has no golden boy status here and nor has he earned it.
Off topic but the uniforms on the court Friday night were absolutely hideous and the MN lime green ones were in another zip code better than the Lakers’ MN throwbacks. More like throw up. Purple and powder blue!
Frank will make us a top 10 offensive team? Ha! More like LBJ will. Without a healthy LBJ, Frank would be fortunate to keep us in the top 15.
Exactly. He's been horrid this season. And he deserves some blame. We're not saying he can't turn it around. We're simply saying he isn't playing at an All--Star level besides a few games he's performed well in. When I see two of the more active Lakers fans, peeps who study the game, all pretty much form a consensus on Westbrook, that usually confirms there's issues.
You asked for evidence and I provided it. I am convinced you just enjoy the back and forth. I hope you enjoy your day today.
We won that’s always good to me. Chicago is better than the Spurs, and I expect them to take a L against the flippers tonight. They will be coming to play tomorrow , I'm expecting a good game.
Their excellent defense is much better than our mediocre offense. Couple that with our terrible perimeter defense and you get what we witnessed tonight.
The best 5 for this team will be Russ, Nunn, Tucker, Lebron and AD. If we go big, take out Nunn for Dwight. I'm not a fan are throwing up a bunch of 3's, Russ and Lebron are going to shoot them anyway, sometimes AD. Tucker and Nunn can score in the midrange. It's not all about the defense, you need some guys that can just get you some consistent buckets outside of the big three. A few buckets here and there helps stop runs or keep pace. Bring your shooters in as the game goes along.
We may have to transform into a 90's style defensive team and hope we hit an adequate rate of 3s. I don't think we can keep up with other teams offensively.
