STOP STARTING AND PLAYING 2 BIGS TOGETHER

START LEBRON AND AD AT THE 4 AND 5 WHETHER THEY ACCEPT IT OR NOT

^ I've intuitively agreed with this school of thought, but so far the Lakers have actually been doing better when AD plays next to DAJ. They went +4 today, and went +2 in G1.

i mentioned in the other thread that this can possibly be explained because he's playing with AD/lebron/bazemore for almost all of his minutes. feel like those have been our best players and best combination.

i'd like to see what we do, rotation-wise, when THT and nunn are available. who sits? where is THT slotted? backup pf or sf?

If Frank doesn't start AD @ the 5 against the Grizz, I'm going to laugh.

We might just best the Grizz either way, but still it's the right call just to make right now.

I’m not expecting him to start him there, but I’m hoping he does play him there more.

I think the reason we look so bad is our defence just isn't there yet. When our defence clicks, we're going to have a lot of easy offence in transition. I expect Vogel to look to fix that first, and then our offence to come around by All Star break.

Don't be too positive Khmrp, we don't want you to have an allergic reaction from the optimism :D

I expect us to be between a 60-66% win team. So around 50-54 wins. I think that probably involves our first 23 games being somewhere around 14-9 give or take.
    • That involves likely losses to Blazers (A), Heat, Bulls, Bucks (A), C Bags (A), Knicks (A), Pacers (A).
    • And some scrappy wins against Grizz, Spurs (A), OKC (A), Cavs, Rockets x 2, OKC, Hornets, Wolves, Spurs, Pistons (A), Kings, Pistons, Kings (A).
This takes us to the end of November. I hope after that our defence is locked in and we can start beating some better opposition.

I don't know you personally, but you said in another thread that you're a naturally negative person - so maybe you're just feeding that beast. These are some facts:
    • Lebron is still a top 5 player in the league
    • AD is still going to be a top defender
    • Vogel will make us into a top 10 defence
    • When our defence clicks, we'll unleash Russ in transition
Those things alone are good enough to get us 50+ wins. So the question to me is, are we going to click over the next 6 months and become a real contender? Or are we just going to be a second round exit.

This is why I don't have the same negative response as you after two games against quality teams with a lot of continuity. I'm looking at this as a journey to peak in April/May, not now.

i mean given the fact they're getting worse gm over gm is one reason im not getting much optimism, if they were looking better gm by gm but still losing i could be optimistic

He better hope he has a 10 ten defense...

Right now he's prioritizing DJ over spacing; they haven't plays designed conceptually to negate the spacing problem that he himself has acknowledged concerns about.

The issue is: they are not running those plays.

Let's see how it says out for the first 10 games or so ..

If you were a Bucks fan I wonder if you would of been feeling the same way when they got beat down by 42 points.

I thought against the suns we had a good 1st and 4th quarter and got beat up by the refs in the 2nd and just played awful in the third. I thought against GSW we were in it the whole way against probably a top 4 team out west.

The fourth quarter of game two looked decent. I hopeFrank utilizes that group more often.

Not necessarily; I think we need more games to start seeing the trend, whatever it is. Like... 20 regular season games would be nice. Then we can have this discussion again, for sure.
