I’m not familiar at all with what Kidd does for us, but it must be something important because he’s always up and yelling at the court. Mainly players speak very highly of him, so again, gotta be something. But, he’s gone, so onto the next, we better use this as an opportunity to upgrade.

Kidd will "speed up" Luka trade request so yeah we might thank him down the road

it's a bit like harden, though kidd was never as unpopular with fans as a player. but all players love kidd. he's the coolest guy in school for whatever reason. i think dallas hiring him and the nike guy as gm is an obvious (and probably sensible) attempt to get some big names to dallas with luka.

Anyway, moving on from Kidd nobody even offered any names here for possible assistant coaches? Do I have to do all the work?

Couple names: David Fizdale. Retread. Defensive minded. Simplistic offense. Familiar with LBJ. Would probably fit right in. Just lacks creativity.

David Adelman. This is who we want: designed the Denver's offense. Familiar with Vogel. Good assistant.

There is more names. I'll post later.

I would like an offensive minded coach for the lead assistant, but at the end of the day I don't think it really makes that big of a difference. People put blame on Vogel for the lack of offense, but given the collabarative culture the Lakers have, the blame is on the entire staff which includes everyone's favorite, Phil Handy, but also Hollins, Kidd, Penberthy, and Simons.

What I like about Kidd's time here is I don't have the slightest clue what he did.

Also, Frank Vogel is a company man. Had the Lakers hired Richard Ramirez to be his assistant, he would have said he is the greatest guy ever in his life.

Good hire for the coaching staff. The only concern is that Fizdale is another defense first minded coach to add to Vogel. I think we need a strong offensive mind on the coaching staff to balance that out.

Yeah one scenario is Drummond comes back , Vogel keeps playing his no spacing starting 5 , our record isn't that good , Lebron gets mad , asks for Vogel's head and Fizdale becomes the HC .

If I could bet on it , I would

i hate that this is accurate. for all the complaining about vogel, i've really felt his hands have been forced/tied by management this year, and it looks likely to continue. but i suppose that's part of why he was hired. he's willing to be a company man in this manner.

The only problem with that is that no coach in the world would make that no spacing 5 somehow better.
