I thought we should have gone to Dwight when Bam was cooking Morris. We were struggling with the post entry passes but wished Dwight got the ball a few times when he got good post position early in the game.

Maybe. But I didn't like Dwight's energy or activity level out there in his 8 minutes. Was hoping having someone to guard would help him realign his motor, but even with Bam out there for him to body, he wasn't contributing.

Maybe we needed Rondo out there with him to get him better entry passes.

I would argue Dwight definitely needs to play next game if AD is sitting and Bam was in the game. Bam killed Morris and the Lakers in the second quarter and frankly it was the only time in the game that Miami looked like the better team.

I get it when they go 5 out or you have AD in the game, Dwight can be an issue on the closeouts but that was a clear mistake by Vogel. I think even with Lebron in the game the Lakers were -8 during that time with Bam and AD out. We basically became the Rockets and Miami the Lakers during that period with Bam overpowering everybody. Dwight would have corrected that easily and because Bam was in the game he has an obvious matchup on defense that works for the Lakers

JSM: Maybe. He usually plays with a ton of energy, but he's not that young either. I think that extra day of rest will definitely help him. Also, as you mentioned, having a facilitator there to get him an nice dunk here and there will keep him active. I wish he got another chance later in the game... not to play heavy minutes, but a short 4-minute stretch would have been useful to give Miami offense a different look and disrupt their rhythm. So, him+Rondo was worth exploring; but I am sure Vogel had his reasons. Or maybe he'll change his mind today after watching film. I mean, Bam is supposed to abuse Morris, I'd be surprised if he didn't.

I think Dwight will be back with more minutes and more energy next game. It’s a close out.

Basketball isn't football. Plus Lebron is the offensive coordinator.

For the love of god can he please stop going small with Morris at center when Bam is in the game. These are just brutal minutes: play Dwight for heaven's sakes - in fact this is the only time you need Dwight in the game

if you don't have "create shot creators" on the team, seems to me you should have some go to set plays at the end of games to get decent looks. something besides high pick and roll from the predictable parties. Just seems like there should be more options at play than drive and dish to end the game. Disappointed.

Needed another playoff Rondo moment in there somehow but went with Green and Morris instead.

Why did Frank leave out Rondo down the stretch in the 4th? Rondo has proven that even if he’s having a crappy game, he can still make winning plays in crunch time.

Pretty much my only complaint about Vogel is which supporting players he has in the game in the last 5 minutes.

He wasn’t perfect, but no coach is. He got this group of guys to buy in though, he preached defense and actually got them to play it, we were a defense first team, and it got us a title. We almost had Monty, we almost had Lue, we “ended” up with this dude, and I think it worked out pretty well, we probably fell into the best hire. He seems to have just the right temperament for this team, he clearly has the team’s respect, he was able to sit guys like Dwight and McGee for entire series and still have their respect. He was supposed to not be able to handle this and be replaced by Kidd mid-season, so much for that haha.
