Come on: really leaking this to Woj before you even tell the Coach. I definitely have my issues with him but he's been a class act and did a good job in getting the Lakers a title. Not his fault he was given players he didn't know how to coach well
He was a lame duck coach. His incompetence can be seen as early as November during the home heavy schedule but Jeanie didn't want to fire him, owe him a bunch of money and then pay for another coach. Frank also brought this on himself. 1) He wasn't creative offensively and didn't know how to utlize the talent 2) He couldn't manage the big egos of Lebron and AD and didn't hold them accountable since the 2020-2021 season. Its time for both parties to part ways.
Not surprised. Our FO is horrible at communication I was believe there was big communication breakdown during the SAC/LA Hield trade as well. We could've used the Kings as a trading partner this season but we burned that bridge with horrible communication SMH.
Not a fan of Juwan Howard. He will be a Lebron backer and won't call him out when he's half assing it
LMAO One thing I will applaud about Vogel is his work ethic, he would make a great college coach. Pros ain't for him IMO
Here's the video He's not one to curse to the press, so I think that speaks volumes. I am glad he heard about it from someone before getting in there though.
I think this might have been a canary in the coal mine that a lot of us missed prior to the season (I mean Russ being a terrible fit was obvious to most but the whole organization looking terrible just a 2 seasons removed from a title was not expected)
No problem moving on from Vogel but this was s***ty. Why would any competent coach want to work with a FO who doesn't get the respect of a Lionel Hollins and treats a championship winning coach like this? Fitting end to a miserable season: you make yourself look even worse after drafting the first ever undrafted rookie to get a 30 point triple double. Just a great job all around sigh
Maybe Woj/Lakers insider had discussion and Woj went ahead and put it out there. All parties at fault here
We've seen other instances of it. We lost Dwight last season simply due to them not contacting him. Dwight even tweeted he was gonna be back and when no one contacted him he went with Philly. That is incompetence at its highest. Oops sorry buddy, we'll sign you again next season mmmkay? From a former player agent in Rob, that's just disgusting. I can't believe how much someone can make my opinion of them do a 360 in just 2 seasons. Originally I loved that Rob talked s*** around the office about Magic's lazy a** and got him to quit. But now, Rob & Co wrecked this team, not Vogel but Vogel is getting fired. Go back through history and find how many times teams took a championship squad and ripped it apart when not being forced to due to money/contract issues. Jerry Krause and the 98 Bulls is all I can think of and he is heralded as one of the biggest idiots in the history of the sport for that move.
I’m officially done with this entire, bumbling group of Jeanie, the Rambii, and Rob. This was the last straw. No excuses for this latest sophomoric blunder. I was going to give them one last chance to right the ship and they do this? They have proven over and over again that they don’t deserve my respect because of how they handle their business. Pathetic.
